Thanks for everyone's input. While the 10049 seemed the runaway winner, I went with the 10066. I have VERY coarse hair, and I wanted to try something with a slightly smaller loft than my VDH. It's inexpensive enough that I can always pick up a 49 in a couple of months if I'm not happy with the 66.

Thanks again everyone. I'll update when I've had a chance to break in the 66 and let everyone know what I think. Maybe I'll buy one of each over the next year or so and give my own review of a winner sub-$15 brush.

Hey! I just learned about the 10066 through this thread and added it to my list. Thanks for that. Also... let us know how you like it!

    Enjoy!

    Quick update.

I used my new Omega 10066 today. Huge difference between the Omega and my VDH boar. This was the first use and I now understand why I was having so much trouble with my lathers before. I used a Williams soap puck (which I've heard can be difficult to lather) and this thing loaded up easily and face lathered thick and creamy. In comparison, it seems like my VDH was barely holding any of the product at all. I've heard lots of people claim that the VDH boars work great for them. I am not one of those people. I think if you have years of practice and excellent technique, maybe it works just fine. Whatever the reasons, this Omega works for me very easily, where the VDH did not.

Anyway, I highly recommend the Omega 10066. Great brush.
