today's shave was ok. I'm still getting used to the synthetic brushes, seems something is different. can't quite out my finger on what, just different. I used the hd today. I got a good shave, but not a great shave.I think the hd is a very mild razor. finished with ice blue.
my ox is stuck in a ditch today, so I have to miss church. praise the Lord anyway.

I got some Birthday gifts to celebrate my Birthday shave. First up my wife got me this Gillette Tech with no date code that because it's my birthday I will call a 1947. The brush I had picked up before and it's a pre 1952 so it's now a 1947! My kids got me the Old Spice mug its the first glass Mug (01) and close enough to 1947 to be 1947. Hay it's my birthday. The Gillette blades ditto. The Old Spice Talc and after shave were a gift from my father in law. He has had them since the early 1950s, almost full. And gotta have some Cella 1899 or so.

The shave was good. Hot water soak for the brush in the mug to warm things up. I hand stropped the blade before loading. The Cella was great as always. The razor has a heavy handle and light head which is different from my FB, so I went slow and had to use more pressure than I like to get this combo to sing. The blade was ok but no Feather. A good 2 pass shave. I stopped while I was ahead with the blade. A little talc and that great old school Old Spice AS. Life is good! Have a good one!

-Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech
-Aftershave: Floid "The Genuine"



Nice shave. The soap smells fantastic. Oranges over Oranges, paired with a touch of cinnamon. Great!!! The combination with the Floid Aftershave is very good. Now i will "enjoy" the rest of this rainy day here in Germany...cold and rainy...seems like autumn is taking over.

Gary inspired my selection this morning with his Black Beauty so I had to break out mine for a lovely Sunday morning shave. I have the long and the short version and I prefer the short since Gary used his long version. An excellent shaver, the Super Adjustable is the last of the line of Gillettes' Adjustables.
