Actually, my 20s Old Type with ball end handle came in. I got it for the handle, but it cleaned up pretty nice. It was pretty grungy when it arrived. I used my electric toothbrush, dental floss, and tooth picks to get the green stuff from between the teeth. Here are after clean up pictures. I wanted the handle for my England NEW long comb. It has the tiny crack in the bottom of the handle but you have to look closely to see it. I am really happy to have a full size handle for my English NEW. From the picture, it looks like I need to brush the NEWs teeth and floss.
After I took this picture, I noticed that my NEW needed a teeth cleaning. Here it is after the teeth cleaning and with the new wooden handle. I will be shaving with this tomorrow.
I hope you will forgive me Jim, but I didn't read all the text and the first thought I had when I saw the picture was, "man, this guy makes shaving brush handles out of bottle stoppers and the like, and now he's gone and made a razor handle out of a hot dog!" Happy shaving with the new razor!
I really like this razor. I have used my DE89 handle on it before. It just needed a longer handle. The wooden handle worked well this morning. I had forgotten how smooth this long comb NEW was. I am looking forward to shaving with it for the next week or so. Tomorrow, I will use the ball end handle and see how that goes.
