  3. One of my favorite razors in the Schick adjustable. I find when I set it on 5 it's perfect.

  4. I received my G-bar on Saturday, and today, I had my first shave with it. The Don Juan blades that came with it were DE so they go in the show case. First shave was a success. Welcome to the party...

  6. Hi guys. Just had my first Single edge shave today. I really enjoyed it but i still need to master using an SE razor.

I do have one question. I have a Gem micromatic open comb razor witha gem blade. Do i take the blade out after every shave or can I keep the blade inside that razor.
I have taken the blade out for now but I am not sure if that is the right thing to do.

Appreciate any help. and thanks to Fram for giving me some great tips to get me started as I am a total SE newbie.

  8. I leave my stainless steel blade in my razor, I do dry/wipe my razor and blade dry after use.

  9. Alright...newbie alert! Showing my ignorance here...what is an injector?
  10. Possibly the finest shaving device ever invented :) A safety razor that looks like the one in Jayaruh's pic a few posts up. The blades are loaded from a dispenser that injects them into the razor, like shucking a pump shotgun. You can see the dispenser in that pic too.

  11. Do what you regularly do with a DE. I only take the blade out and dry and oil it if it is made from carbon steel. Stainless steel? I just shake the razor to shed excess water and leave it to air dry.
  12. Thanks for the help. Not sure what my blade is made of, I have a new gem blade that came with the razor.

  15. Has anyone tried stropping a PAL Blue SE blade or re-sharpening it using attached methods http://www.oldjimbo.com/pics/shave/shaving.html to give it longer life.
  16. there is a member on the original safety too who has been having good luck doing stripping of carbon blades. I tried both and the carbon Treets still suck.
  17. Now 'fram"...remember 'ymmv factor". Ha,ha....

I know a few cats who seem to shave forever on a carbon SE by Stroppin....I haven't done it much myself as 'razorx' told me too much 'Hand-Stropping' could have detrimental affects on your eyesight.... :happy102:
