Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep

    Blade: Feather
    soap: My French Soap Mix
    Post: alum sprayed on

Another great shave with the open comb. I think I will try an old style open comb tomorrow. 3 passes, BBS, no irritation, and smooth as silk.

    Two comfortable passes
I am still a little bit tender on my neck from yesterday, so I opted for two passes on my cheeks and one on my neck. My HIS lather monster easily made yogurt from the B&M Dickens I traded for last winter and am now using for the first time. I put it in a tin and forgot about it - does that mean I have too much soap? Anyway, most of the scent was gone, so not much to report there, but the performance shared the typical excellence of the brand. The Synergy Bay Rum Tonic finished well and chilly.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime/menthol
    Soap: B&M Dickens
    Brush: HIS XL
    Razor: iKon SC101
    Blade: Personna lab blue (2)
    AS: Synergy Bay Rum Tonic

This is Saturday's shave. I didn't have internet yesterday, so I'm posting today. I'm waiting until this evening to shave today, so that post will come later.

Prep: Warm shower, Proraso Pre Shave
    Razor: Gillette Tech
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
Lather: LA Shaving Soap Spring Street
    Brush: Omega Travel Brush
    Post: Nivea ASB
    Aftershave: Floid Amber

This is my first time using the Gillette Tech. From reading comments from others, I expected this to be a mild razor. Mild doesn't even begin to describe this razor. You could safely give this razor to a 4 year old and allow him to play with it without any worry of him cutting himself. This is, of course hyperbole, but I just can't get over how mild this razor is. I was actually using pressure like I would with a cartridge razor. I finished with a DFS and no irritation, but I'll have to add a shim or two before I use this razor again.

I'll be back home with access to all of my razors this evening, so I'm waiting until then to shave today.

    Have a great day!

Yup, after looking very closely and even weighing them on a digital kitchen scale, I can confirm that they are absolutely, 100% identical. They are without a doubt the same manufacturer.

A bit disappointing -- I was stoked to see a new razor arrive, only to find that it is the same exact one I already own. At least I only paid $8.99 for it. Looks like a PIF may be in the works some day down the road!

(By the way, the lighting in this photo is not the best... They look a bit different in this pic, but I can declare authoritatively that no one could tell the difference between these two.)

Well, I didn't feel like waiting for the hot water this morning, so I soaked my brush in cold water. Something about putting cold lather on your face sure is refreshing... I might have to keep this up for awhile.

Everything else about the shave was the same as yesterday's, only a little smother.

Prep: Hot shower. Olay Regenerist Face Wash. (Which seemed to cause some irritation)

    Razor: Weishi 9306-H

    Blade: Dorco

    Lather: van der Hagen pink

    Brush: van der Hagen boar

Post: Bigelow No. 010 Dr. Galen Witch Hazel Formula Skin Tonic

After: L'Occitane Cade splash, L'Occitane Cade Energizing Face Gel

May have to give it a day or two for my next shave. Had some irritation that I think is from the Olay Regenerist, and re-opened one of yesterday's nicks from the MT1/Dorco combination. But that said, I'd still consider today a DFS even though it was not my favorite by far. Looking forward to when my first real vintage razor arrives and when I have my sampler pack of blades -- I'm not convinced that the Dorco blades are all that great.

Any suggestions on helping my scalp heal up more quickly? Would an alum block help? Using a styptic pencil now for the minor nicks.
