The Super Speed plating was missing and rusty on one of the blade guards and the underside of the head. Someone tried to polish the head of the Slim with a rotary tool and scoured it pretty good. Both razors were ebay surprises. They look a lot better now.

That's good. I have an SS that had a similar issue, however I was able to get it for cheap and ended up getting it replated. Some pitting leftover but looks better. That seems par for the course however.

Weird is, if I shine a bright LED flashlight on the head the scour marks are faintly visible. In sunlight, incandescent or fluorescent light they are not visible.

Ah! I'm sorry, yes sheaths. Thanks BigMark! The leather travel cases were made by Vern Dahl's Handcrafted in Archbold ,Ohio. They are handmade to hold Slim, Super, and Fat Boy razors. Designed to hold the razor with blade in without damage.
