What a pity this soap is so difficult to find, and very expensive, because it really is special. I bought it a year ago at a store which sells a lot of wetshaving stuff, and I loved it right off the bat. A couple of weeks later, I went to the store again to buy a couple more of this brand, and discovered it was not only sold out, but also being discontinued. This soap is delightful in every way, and despite it being so costly, I'd buy it again if I could find it. Jeff
A good soap, but quite expensive.. It lathers well and fast, skincare is good.. The scent is soapy and nice, but a tad common.. Its origin is Germany and its widely aviable here in Europe but at a high price, 15€ for 66g - thats the bad part about this soap
I agree with the persons above: a very good saving soap -almost the best- from DOVO/Merkur. The soap has almost a PH from 10,8 and a lot of people can't stand it on the face. That is the only bad thing of this soap. Luckily, I've no problems with the soap; I always get a 'sharp' and easy shave from it. A great smell, soft, soapy, lemon, but some people are not that opinion. As far as I know, in Holland not availible, in German (were this soap is made) is it hard to find in shops (you have it to buy on internet). Hope, this was little helpfull.
Luckily I got this soap in a trade with a wonderful friend on this forum. So no qualms on the price of this soap, my friend was very generous with his hand outs The scent lingers with me through the day although it is not strongly scented, however I like it. Initially I made the mistake of swirling the brush too long which almost choked my Omega Boar brush when I was lathering. I had to remove some lather and put it back in the box with the soap and then add water to produce even more lather. It is a luxury shave soap and I am in love with the scent and the thick moisturizing lather. It makes for a royal shave ! The skin feels soft and moisturized after use. From what I hear, its an expensive soap, so I use it wisely !!
