My Paternal Grandmother is visiting us this week. I was on Etsy and asked her if she remembered these "old razors". She then told me she has my Grandfathers old one! SS or not I am going to cherish that thing. I have wanted an Heriloom razor for months.

I need to ask my grandpa... I love heirlooms... He gave me his pipe and pipe stand a couple years ago and I cleaned it up and smoke it from time to time... Love that stuff ...

Post a pic when you have time.

I have tried to narrow it down to a 60s SS or a Super adjustable. Well I should have it this weekend when she goes home. Whatever it is though I will be glad to own it. I do not plan on it being mint but I am just ecstatic.

I believe it is a Black Tip SS. I showed her some pics and said it looked like that model.

Family "gifts" like this are really nice. My 90 year old aunt recently gave my her father's 1920's old type and my great grandfathers shaving mug. I will cherish them always and I'm sure you will cherish your family heirlooms, too.

Well turns out it is a Black Beauty. So I got an Adjustable, Birth Year Razor and Gramps Razor all in one. It is off by 2 quarters but it is still a 1983 BB.

I have my grandfather's tech from 1960, he died in 69. It is one of my most prized possessions. I think it's great that you got that razor.

Wow BigMark, that's quite a combo an heirloom and your birth razor. Congratulations!

I know dude! I was looking at it and noticed the d2 date code and got even more excited. This might just just be number 1.

So I'm thinking Gramps said to himself, "I've got a brand new Grandson, I need to get a brand new Razor to pass on to him one day."
