Rest easy, lads! Bestshave must have been late on their rent, but they were not evicted. They were back up some time yesterday. I was so relieved that I had a Bestshave.net tribute shave this morning. I used my cheapie Yuma and my Banat Perfect brush, both of which came from http://bestshave.net/. Dang it!!! I should have lathered with Arko! I got mine at Bestshave, too. BTW... that Yuma... it's an ugly Zamak, lightweight cheapie but really delivers a top notch shave! I loaded my first ever Gillette Silver Blue and was NOT disappointed. mmmmm... shaving goodness...
I have found several at antique shows at a good price but you go have to be careful of the seller that thinks they are worth more than Gold.
Many people use Yuma razors here in Turkey as a disposable especially in holiday resorts, because they can be acquired locally easily. I see hundreds of them whenever I go to a dollar store or a market place. $2 is a fair price for international sale. They're sold for 0.70 cents each (1.5 TL) with a red box in Turkey. Unboxed Yumas can be a bit cheaper here. I bought one to try and I threw it away after the shave, because it was way aggressive for me and mine was not well built. But you know, YMMV, if you like the shave of it, keep it.
Not to beat a dead horse, but italianbarber's RazoRock line are great starter razors. Maggards makes good razors as well! I just got an MR8 stainless and it's a BEAST with my cadet open comb head. I wouldn't suggest it to start simply because it weighs so much, but their others are really good based on all the reviews I've heard!
