Now that I've started the class, I see why. I just always took em to H&R Block and didn't pay attention. Then this year a ehem... Elderly man... Messed Robin's taxes up by not posting attention and I said "I could do this." We are learning to do them by pen and paper first, then, we get to use a program in like 3 or 4 weeks. I think that's where I'll thrive I am studying so hard though. It's the most motivated I've ever been about any class.
Right now I've overwhelmed and intimidated, but it's interesting and closes the gap of not understanding taxes. It is interesting, but it's a fast class that only covers 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, and the variables that come with them. It ends in December. I'm a smart guy, I think I can do it. My biggest struggle is being an at home dad and finding time for Robin to relax after work and me finding time to study. It's been at night after Leif goes to sleep.
These are my books. The big one is my workbook, the smaller one is my text book, the tiny one is about Mississippi taxes.
Last night was kind of strange. I went to shoot at the indoor range. I had to stop, after 50 arrows, because some of the guys were installing a new security camera system. Trouble was they ALL insisted they knew what they were doing. All that was really involved was running wire through walls & tacking down loose wire, once run. This is stuff I've done; it's physically awkward sometimes, but not rocket science. That said, it was all they could do to figure out how to pull it through a hole they had drilled. Plus, none of them had the sense to make sure someone was securing a ladder, on which they were climbing. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but one guy did almost fall.
Oh dear... They were experts, weren't they? I'll ask Bob to take some notes and apply for a refit if necessary. Geoff asked if he could join in as well.
Folks, I have not forgotten the PIF for the Frost Byte..... I am installing new flooring in my house and when I got the the back glass sliding door, I discovered the sub-flooring and the ends two of the floor joist ends have rotted out due to a water leak. I got the bad stuff out and have about a 1x4 hole in the floor. I plan to Kilz the area and then reinforce the joists with pressure treated 2x4s, Liquid Nails and deck screws. Fortunately, I caught it in time and all can be repaired. I'll do the drawing this week and get the word out on the winner. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Ed
Well this morning, I went to my Orthopedic Surgeons office for the results of the MRI done on the 29th, of last month. He talked about the report. It has a lot 500 dollar words and few ten thousand words, so I will try not to confuse all of us any more than I am. (it took almost 6 months to get auth. from owcp to pay for the MRI). Any way he wrote a prescription for Physical Therapy on my neck and back and my wrists. Probably another 5 to 6 month wait, worse than the VA.
I actually liked PT too. Tonight I went to the gym after work then ended up meeting up with a friend and met his girlfriend and her friend for dinner.
Splint removed and stitches waiting to be removed: Now in a cast for the next month: The doctor is very pleased with the healing. Ah to be young and have a young body again. Thanks to all for your kind thoughts and prayers.
I understand the scars from procedures on feet, ankles, knees, wrists ... Even though it is easier when young it is still difficult. He will have to cool his jets a bit until he is fully healed.
Cold sad day here. Yesterday I was let go from work, my boss decided he wanted someone more experienced than the young rising accountant he initially wanted when he hired me. Already been in contact with several recruiters and I will be updating my resume this weekend...and then I'll be flooding the market with it. :/ At least I get to spend some much needed time with my 3 girls.
