I have a schick injector from the 1933 to 1945 period. I used it today along with an old boar brush and art of shaving cream to lather and art of shaving pre shave oil. Must be a thing you have to get use to but my face was feeling the razor burn and i have a few nicks on my face and neck ugh. I hope it gets better with time
Welcome to the Den! We have a bunch of injector aficionados that can help you sort that out. Apparently injectors can give a mighty fine shave. In the first 30 days, it is all about learning technique.
Hi There are a few things that need to be taken into account for achieving a good shave. Prep- did you shower before you shaved? Was your face hydrated. Lather- was it slick? Pressure- let the razor do the reduction of whiskers without pressure. Passes- maybe try going with the gain only, map out your beard growth. It will get better! These are only a couple of things that come to mind.
Welcome. You're only getting razor burn because you are using pressure. The older injectors are known to be more aggressive too. 50s+ injectors are milder.
Welcome to the Den Just keep it up and you'll get the hang of it. There's plenty of gurus around here , you can always get good advice around here
Hi Craa, and welcome to TSD! Great advice above. Keep it up, you'll get there. Take it slow. No pressure (physical nor mental).
Thanks, i actually used an old se gem 1912 that i had purchased from an antique store in town. Ive used it several times now and im getting the hang of the angle. My face was baby butt smooth and not much burn second time around. I have to shave everyday for my job and my face sometimes i think cant handle that but what can you do.
Just for a clean look you don't really need to do lots of passes. You can get away with a quick 1 or 2 pass if it come down to it. And you'll see..just keep going with the brush lather and single blade route and you'll start to get past all that irritation in no time..it just takes time..welcome to TSD..
