Know that feeling when you just spent some good money on an auction on eBay....you send them a message asking if payment came in ok and if we're all set...and you don't hear anything from them for 24 hours..? Especially if they communicated with you in a timely manner before the auction ended. I'm on 26 hours now and I hate that feeling. Personally I think if you have an auction you should be required to answer any communications pertaining to it w/in 24 hours. Now, eBay is something we chose to use or not. It comes with some risks but is also gives us an amazing opportunity to find and buy things we may never had even seen without it. Still, doesn't make this stomach-aching-feeling any less noticeable
I have used Ebay several times with good, I'll call it, luck. The only bad experience I have encountered is after paying for shave scuttle using the buy it now feature w/shipping included, the seller came back and asked me it I would share the shipping cost. I said no - a deal is a deal. Things got a little dicey . In the long run I was able to get a full PayPal refund from the seller. Caveat emptor........... Ed
I understand how you feel. Things do happen in people's lives, medical, down computer, natural emergency. As long as you used PayPal, and you did, I'm sure PayPal sent an email confirming the sale and payment. Everything will work out. But having to wait a couple of extra days before it ships!
The seller probably still uses a PC for their eBay work. I use my iPhone app. Anything eBay that happens for me is quickly in my notifications queue and can be acted upon immediately. But, that's just how I roll. That said, relax, it's only been a day. Your purchase will probably just show up without any communication.
I'm just sending them ONE message every 24 hours... It's been...about 50 hours now w/out any communication (but who's counting). Funny thing is that before I paid we communicated a couple of times and they replied w/in a couple of hours. Where's that scotch...
I don't want to be TOO much of an annoying buyer. I think a quick hello email every 24 hours will be annoying enough. I still have faith. At least for 72 hours
I've purchased quite a few items on eBay, and I hardly ever communicate with the seller. I pay and within a few days get notification that it shipped. Sometimes get the item before notification of shipping.
I have always had good luck with Ebay over the years. Out of hundreds of purchases I only had one problem, and after filing a complaint it was settled right away. I was also a pretty high volume seller on Ebay for a couple of years and while I always tried to respond to my emails immediately--it wasn't always possible. I do like to leave the house every so often, so questions from buyers did have to wait until my personal time/schedule permitted me to reply...So I wouldn't worry too much at this point.
Ebay gives you something like 45 days to file a complaint, so it's probably a bit early just yet to be getting too nervous. More than likely it's just a fluke "life happens" sort of scenario. How's the fellow's feedback by the way? That's really the strength of Ebay IME - the schmucks tend to get "outed" pretty consistently (and plainly revealed, come to that!)
The reason I'm not super worried is because; a) Hasn't changed username for a long time, b) Great feedback (over 100 items), c) Been active in the past month, d) Sold similar items. I do that sort of sanity check before I place a bid. So, we'll see, as I said I have faith and I'm sure I'm just being antsy for no good reason.
That sounds like a good policy DB. I'd be surprised if you didn't hear from him within a day or three.
Hmm, sounds like a pretty shady seller to me. I'm starting to think his plan all along was to get positive feedback on 100+ items just to get your money and run. ..this might also be part of a much larger conspiracy
