FRIDAY EVE For Saturday Another very good shave with The Montague (it sounds so sophisticated, "Jeeves, I believe I'll shave with The Montague this eve..." "Excellent choice, sir.") Airs of pomposity aside, it is a very comfortable razor. Used in conjunction with the Wool Fat made for a very cozy combo. I decided to go with a UK product theme tonight since I started with the razor & Fat; added the Simpson and the DRHarris to wrap it up. Jolly good! Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
Saturday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Sharp day 6 Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS Stirling Glacial Wintergreen WH Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EdT OMG, it just doesn't get any colder than this. This set-up would be perfect for Menthol Monday because every item I used is bone-chillingly frigid. The Neutrogena facial wash started the wheels in motion, the Glacial Obsidian soap hit me like ten tons of icy bricks and the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel continued that freezing sensation. I think I'll use these exact same products for Monday's shave. The Sharp blade gave me an excellent shave, but now it's starting to show some signs of fatigue but I think it'll do the job for tomorrow.
Shave of the day Pre- Hot shower Soap/cream- Haslinger, schafmilch rasierseife Brush- The body shop Synthetic Razor- Gillette slim adjustable (3) Blade- Astra SP(2) Post- Cold water rinse, Speick for men and Nivea aftershave balm A nice 2 pass shave WTG and some XTG strokes on stubborn patches. The Haslinger shave soap was a gift from Martin. And I like it very much. If was Easy to lather and very very slick. I got some razorburn, but I blame my technique and not the soap. First time using the soap too, so maybe I will eliminate that until next time. The burning is all gone now so it was a minor razorburn =) Lately I have skipped the preshave oil just to see how my shaves are without it. I'm not sure if it is because of this, but I might be getting better shaves without it. I'm stil learning what's best for my skin. Experimenting will tell =) Oh and the Speick AS is very liked! It might become a permanent member of the family Have a good one everybody!

B&M Saturday Today I tried out Lavanille for the first time. It's the tallow version, and it's a winner. It has the usual B&M smooth performance with a complex scent. I certainly smell lavender and vanilla, but also a peppery scent and others I cannot identify yet. I'll use this for a few days to see what else I can detect. My cheeks feel amazing, but my neck is a bit tender due to technique. Prep: ATG Soap: B&M Lavanille tallow Brush: HIS XL Razor: iKon SC101 Blade: Personna lab blue (3) AS: B&M Kyovu Bay Rum
Saturday 09/20/14 Prep: Gaia face scrub Oil: Shave Secret Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery Razor: Gillette new open comb (long) Blade: Ladas soap: Geo. F. Trumper LILAC Post: alum sprayed on Witch Hazel: Generic rose scented AS: Sampson's all natural I used Geo. F. Trumper LILAC today because I was in a mood for a light floral scent. This is an O.K. soap, but for me lacks the slickness and cushioning required for an SE shave - which is why I used a DE instead. It does have a great scent.
She's a beaut! There is much speculation on the 'barber's notch' but I've yet to read anything definitive. You really come to appreciate the value of round tips after you've managed to nick yourself a few times with a square point!
Thanks, I am very fond of this brush. Oscar11 does great work. I have used the Feather AS-D2 almost exclusively in the several weeks that I have had it. I like it very much. It is similar to a vintage Gillette Tech in mildness, but smoother and feels so much better in the hand. It pairs great with sharp blades like Feather and Kai.
Kerry, praying that your elbow feels better and your body as a whole is restored & refreshed, my friend!

I don't recall the last time I bowl-lathered the Speick with my badger brush, but it quickly produced enough lather to shave a Wookie. I could easily have gone on for a third, fourth, or seventh pass today; it wasn't as if I was experiencing any nicks or irritation, either, thanks to the lather and the comfortable Bic/41c combo. However, my shave yesterday was so close that 3 passes weren't really necessary, so I stopped before possibly re-opening any weepers.
