  3. Razor: Supermax SII
    Blade: Supermax SII
    Brush: GDCarrington custom ACE silvertip
    Lather: Dr. Dittmar
    Post: Omega balm

The Supermax SII cart is mediocre- tuggy and not smooth. Not as bad as a disposable but no where near the quality of a Personna or Dorco twin cart. This is the first time I use a silvertip badger and the first time I use a badger in a long time. I am used to using very little water with my synthetics and so I under watered my brush and the lather was extremely pasty. I added more water and it was fine. I barely had enough lather for the second pass though. In just the time I was doing the first pass the brush got pasty again. I did not have enough lather for a pass on the back of my neck and had to load more. A technique adjustment will be necessary. Otherwise a good shave with no irritation.

  4. Remember that Silvertips seem to absorb more water and product (in my experience) than best, then finest, then pure. You will make the adjustment in short order I am sure of that.

    Head shave Saturday -
Prep: warm wash with Stirling Naked & Smooth
Lather: Hobbyist IanS lavender soap (31st lather in a row)
    Brush: Vie-Long 13061M
    Razor: Gillette New SC
    Blade: Treet DuraSharp carbon (1)
    Post: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Yesterday's head shave seemed to have worn off this morning, so I headed in for a quick 2 pass shave. Lather was excellent, fresh blade was smooth and the shave was outstanding. My face is taking a day off.

Excellent shave this morning! As you may know I tend to prefer heavier razors. I just feel more confident as far as grip and feel with them. But I have to tell you this little bakelite razor is a BEAST!...

    Dove Men's Face Wash
    TABAC Shaving Soap
    Semogue 1305 Boar Brush
    Schick I1
    NOS Gillette Platinum Plus
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The TABAC Shaving Soap face-lathered very easily with my Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes with my Schick I1 and Gillette Platinum Plus blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
