SEptember 24's Dove Men's Face Wash TABAC Shaving Soap Frank Shaving Finest Badger Schick M-2 (first shave) Schick Plus Platinum CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue The TABAC Shaving Soap face-lathered very easily with my Frank Shaving Finest Badger Brush. Two passes with my Schick M-2 Adjustable and Schick Plus Platinum blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. It was my first shave with this razor, and it did not disappoint. Schick made an awesome adjustable. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

9/24/14 Prep: warm wash with Stirling Naked & Smooth Lather: Bigelow Brush: Vie-Long 13061M Razor: Gillette New SC Blades (Treet Carbon 5 and 1) Post: Proraso green aftershave I was reminded why I don't use menthol and eucalyptus products...I seem to be allergic. Skin reaction big time and clogged nose upon brushing it on. So, my partially used tube will be passed on to someone else soon. 2 pass with irritated burn on the neck (I'm thinking reaction, not razor burn) and I'll live to fight another day.
Wednesday: L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/Sharp day 3 Italian Palmolive Menthol SC Anherb AS Gel Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash Givenchy Pour Homme EdT These days I don't use creams too often - my routine has me using a lot more soaps, but the Italian version of Palmolive Menthol is a top-favourite cream of mine. I love the scent, the rich, thick, easy-to-create lather, and the strong menthol wallop it gives me, as well as the moisturizing and soothing skincare. The Anherb gel smells awesome and is very, very cooling with terrific protection against dryness and irritation. The Penguin is about as frigid as the Rubby Dubby Doo. BBS with almost no effort.
Wednesday Bulldog Men Sensitive face wash 2014 Weber SS PH w/Bulldog handle razor Vikings Sword blade (3) Omega 10077 boar brush w/blue handle Arko Ice Mint SC (now known as Extra Fresh) 3 passes WTG/XTG/ATG + touch-up Nivea Men Sensitive ASB Nice shave, borderline BBS, no irritation, very refreshing. Love that Omega already. Just got it today from my favourite seller from Israel. It's not broken in, so it's not completely "there" yet, but soft tips and great backbone. What a bargain! I'm seeing myself using that often in rotation now.
Odin's Day: Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub Cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Soap: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC Blade: Dorco 300 (3) Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (7, 8, 9) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy Back to the Simpson brush and the Ginger's Garden soaps, and suddenly all issues are gone. This is a glycerin soap, but it lathers beautifully for me, with plenty of cushion and glide. After the first rough day, this particular instance of the Dorco-300 is performing very well, making me hesitate to consider pushing it for another day or retiring it after 3 good days and 9 passes + touchup in total. No nicks, no weepers, and no irritation, just a smooth, 3-pass, BBS shave.

Wednesday 09/24/14 Prep: Gaia face scrub Oil: Shave Secret Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep Scuttle: none - face lathered Razor: Gillette new open comb (long) Blade: Ladas soap: Le Pere Lucien Post: alum sprayed on Witch Hazel: Generic Rose scented AS: Sampson's all natural I always face lather the first time I try a new soap because I find it easier to adjust the amounts of soap and water on the fly than when I bowl lather. Today I used Le Pere Lucien for the first time. This is a very nice soap, a cushioned shave with good slickness. I am not sure about the moisturizing properties of Le Pere Lucien, but this is definitely a pleasant soap. I got a nice 3-pass bbs shave.
Finding the right blade I'm trying out some different blades in my aristocrat to see if the razor works better with certain blades. Today I used a Gillette Silver Blue. I got a couple weepers on my cheek during the first pass, which is very rare for me. Almost all my weepers happen on my neck, and usually on the third pass. Anyway, these weepers closed by the time I was done shaving, without needing styptic or alum. I don't know if this means that the GSB is sharper or less smooth than the Personna lab blues, or both. I will use the blade at least one more time before switching. The shave is close, but my cheek is tender. My neck is fine, but I think that is because I did not go ATG today. Prep: ATG soap Soap: B&M Lavanille Brush: HIS XL Razor: Gillette Aristocrat Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1) AS: Shea Moisture Elixir and balm
