1. 2014-10-03 08.34.10.jpg Freidel Koch 6/8 with gold etching & some funky scales that I want to replace. I have two of these from a 7 day set and they are my very best shavers. Simply incredible blades. Cell phone photos and oil on blade, sorry

PS: wishing you a speedy recovery from a successful procedure!
  4. An "All New Gear" shave! The new Chevalier arrived today. The vender had given me the option of honing myself and getting the razor immediately or waiting a couple weeks for him to return from a trip abroad and he'd hone it for me (BTW: he does not advertise his razors as "shave-ready" so no foul). As patience is not a virtue I am familiar with, He popped it in the mail and I had it two days later.

After receiving the razor and giving it a careful inspection, to the hones she went. Fit and finish are superb. I've had three Wackers, and all were superbly finished and well made/ground. Folks have noted with some frequency in the past that grinds, fit and finish can be an issue with some of the Wacker razors. I can only report on my own experience, and this has been three times positive. The edge may have been shave ready, it required very little effort to obtain a killer edge on the hones.

The brush was made by a member of another forum, and it is absolutely unreal in person. It is simply stunning. Also, as a bonus, VERY affordable for what you get. If interested, PM and I'd be happy to provide details to put you in contact with the brush maker.

Also used the sample cream provided by the brush maker. Delightful scent, and a good cushiony, slick cream.

Last weekend I put all my straights (usable or not) to my finishing hone to get some practice in. This is the second time I have honed this straight. I am very happy with the shave got today!

  17. Another beauty, Jamie!
The razors you share are always quality items, but your photographic presentations on each one of them is always a treat for me to view. One can tell there is thought & planning that goes into the composition. Well done.
I spent some years directing product shots both in studio and on location and I always look forward to your SR photos! :happy088:
  18. Thank you Kevin you are obviously a knowledgeable Man when it comes to photographic shots and composition, my own sense of composition comes from my fine Art background Painting and studying many paintings down the years, visiting Art galleries all over Europe finally paid off.:)
  19. Indeed it has! Evident in all your shots….:)
