6/8 Gong Wickham Super Smooth (rose sample) homemade boar Nice shave this morning. I'm not a big fan of rose scents but that has nothing to do with performance. This soap lathers abundantly and easily and offers good protection during the shave. I think it would be a worthy of a trial for you soap hounds. No idea of what it costs, however. Have a good one.
SOTD October 4, 2014 Prep: Hot shower. Neutrogena face wash. Noxzema. Brush: Vintage Ever-Ready Boar. Lather: Arko. Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech (stamped 1932), made in Canada. Blade: Gillette Silver Blue Stainless. Post: Cold water; Razorock Alum Block; C.O. Bigelow Dr. Galen Herbal Witch Hazel Skin Tonic No. 010. After: Echt Kölnisch Wasser "4711" After Shave. Nice little razor. Very close to BBS with no mishaps. Might have earned a place in the rotation, though it is very similar to my stripped-down gold "ugly duckling" FHT. Not going to be a candidate for no-variation November, though; right now, I'm leaning toward my Merkur 34C for that.

SATURDAY Double edge morning another oft-ignored DE razor pulled from the drawer the morning: my old Gillette fat-handled Gold tech. Mild and smooth shaver, the Tech has always been one of my favorite vintage razors. 3 right-handed passes with little blood drawn= a good morning! have a great saturday, all!
Gillette Knack head on a Fatip Grande handle Astra SP(2) Semogue 1800 Florena SC Pitralon Classic Great shave today, irritation free 3 pass BBS. I've come to enjoy my Frankenrazor. Shaves well, and found it's place in the middle of the spectre between my very forgiving and mild Rimei (basically a tech clone) on one side and my Fatip on the other side. Semogue is a miracle worker as always, and the Florena gives wonderful thick, cushiony , stable lather, but I'm still not crazy about the scent

The Shea Mango for the pre-shave helped. No burn! Have a good weekend!
04.10.2014 Good Evening. After a week of unruly synapses and a clogged breathing apparatus it felt good to take a few pictures, mow the face lawn and just try to make myself somewhat presentable. And as always when I have more than a few days growth I like to use my most efficient shaver, the slant bar. This is the only slant bar I have had the pleasure of trying, and I have to say that it is a very good razor. So good that it has prevented me from trying another slant, even though I really want one. For this occasion I have picked out the Erasmic cream. The only product I can get locally, but so good that I could live on this one alone if I had to. To top it all, I also used the discontinued Proraso AS splash to finish the shave, and it gave me quite the sting. I enjoy a good sting from my aftershave splashes, but the strength and intensity of this one was more than I had anticipated and it gave me a slight Macaulay moment.
