The TOBS Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes with my Gillette English NEW LC and Shark Super Chrome blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

The shave today was great! The LPL lathered like a dream and smelled fantastic! The smell is kind of like a woody rose. Not unpleasant or overpowering at all. It provided a nice slick cushion for my 3 pass shave. The skincare is great also! My face didn't dry out at all and felt healthy after the shave.

If you are a fan of rose products, this is an exotic smelling keeper!

That soap does sound nice, Luke! :) I'm not really a fan of rosy scents but there are always exceptions. Klar Kabinett, for example.

This was an experimental shave. This is the first time I've ever used Myrsol Emulsion for a shave. That means no brush, no cream or soap.

I did my Prep as usual, but didn't wet my brush. I didn't need to for this shave. I then put a generous amount of Emulsion on the palm of my hand and then started rubbing it into my stubble and vigorously rubbing against the grain. I then wet my razor and started shaving.

The initial feel was weird because even though this stuff is really slick, there was no cushion. I'm not used to that. It started to feel better as I got used to the feel. I got as much stubble as I could in the first pass and then rinsed off and put more on. I went against the grain and then rinsed off. I used my alum block to see how good of a shave it was and how irritated my skin was.

Surprisingly, there was no burn. There was a weeper on my upper lip, but that was due to inattentiveness.

Results: a BBS shave with pretty good skincare. This is how Miquel, the founder of Myrsol has been shaving for decades. Emulsion, no cream or soap.

While it was a fun experiment, I won't be making this a regular habit. It took way too much product to get the comfort I wanted and I missed the cushion from soaps, creams, and my brush. But I know I can shave like this if I have serious time constraints.

Here are my shaving plans for tomorrow. I have to get up early, so I won't have much time to post this shave.

    Sunday:

    Hot shower
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Sharp day 7
    De Vergulde Hand SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Lubriderm Unscented Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Booster Iced Lime AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EdT

Yes, believe it or not, no mentholated stuff for this shave. It's been a long time that I haven't used my VGH soap which is one of the finest in Europe and the oldest known shaving soap in the world. This great stuff has been around for over 450 years and it's the most famous shaving soap in Holland, where it comes from. The Booster Iced Lime is a lovely Canadian classic - a great scent and lots of skincare. Although it has no menthol, it's still fairly cooling. It's sold in some barbershops here in Montreal. My wife hates the scent, but I absolutely love it. I'm hoping the Sharp blade doesn't give up the ghost on me like the one I used last Sunday did. I'll try to give a more detailed report tomorrow at some point. Wish me luck, guys! ;) :D

No nicks or irritation this time. I had a CCS. It was my first time with a rimei razor blade and I liked the way it shaves, comfy shave.

You can get a brush from whipped dog and you can ask him to drill the hole deeper for a small fee of 5 $ to give it more backbone =)

    Hey Friends,

i just endet a very fine shave. Yesterday i received my new soap from Italy. A wonderful Fern scent. Naturally, not too overpowering, just the perfect balance. I will do a review later. :) Here is what i used:

    Prep: homemade Preshave
    Soap: Saponificio Varesino "Felce Aromatica"
    Brush: HJM Black Fibre
    Razor: Apollo Slant
    Blade: Trition R3
    Aftershave: CH Pitralon

Fantastic soap. What a smell!!! The Aftershave wasn´t necessary, because the soap gave plenty of skin care, but i used it. ;)My skin felt great after the shave. Just a pure joy to use. Stunning soap.

Have a great time and great shaves.

    Take care of you.

    Greetings
    Thorsten
