Real Fine Shave R41-2013 Chrystal Blade EJ Badger Brush EJ Aloe Cream, that I used back in May with no luck, hard to lather. I must be getting better, it lathered up real nice, added more water than I use with TOBS Sandlewood or GFT Almond. Real smooth cream. Washed face with Neutrogena face soap. Preshave-GFT SkinFood sandlewood, real slick when put on damp hands. Aftershave- TSD-Barber Shoppe, very nice stuff, smells wonderful, skin feels great. Georgetown mug.
NEW shave #2. Similar setup to yesterday: Hot shower, Gillette New LC, Proraso green (LOVE that menthol), Whipped Dog silvertip, Astra SP blade (shave #3), Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. Yesterday's shave was so close that I think I scared my beard! Much less 1 day growth than usual. 2 1/2 passes today (didn't need my normal 3 passes). No nicks today, only a little bit of feedback from the Aqua Velva. I think I've still got to get used to the shallow angle of this razor. Is much different than my other newer razors. I still find the handle to be a bit too short. Tried my DE89 handle, but it doesn't quite fit and I really don't need that much more weight. Problems aside, I still like the resulting shave. I think I'm starting to realize why the New has such a following. Oh well, off to the salt mine.
Sunday, November 26th Tried a blue tip I bought off eBay. Also tried a shaving cream for the first time. I was in Walmart and decided for $3.50, why not. I used an Astra blade. It went ok.
