SOTD Tuesday 10-7-2014 5/8 Wester Bros. De-Fi #34 Noxima Classic Clean Stephan's SS in OS Mug Georgetown Scuttle Semogue 820 Boar Dickinson's Witch Hazel Gold Bond Body Lotion Mennen Original Skin Bracer Close clean and cool shave to match this morning's weather. Fall is definately in the air. Pretty soon it will be leaf raking time. Oh joy!
Bruce, I'll take mountains of leaves to rake over the 90°F+ temps we've been having this past week anytime! I am sooooooo ready for Fall…...
I hold mine almost flat against the face, but not quite. The best way to find the angle is to listen to the blade. You should get good audible feedback as you shave. Adjust the angle so that feedback is the loudest. Also, because the razor is so light compared to a DE, it is tempting to apply pressure. Don't give into the temptation. Good luck with the injector. Once you figure it out, they are great. Since I found the joy of injectors, I seldom use anything else. If you decide it isn't for you, though, and you want to sell the Stick, send me a message. I may be interested.
I like it ok, my wife likes it alot. so I wear it. sorry for the poor pics. you see I'm actually left handed. I lost the use of my left hand about eighteen yrs ago. never was much of a photographer, worse with one hand. is a bad pic better or worse than no pic? the brisk smells familiar, like Skin Bracer and clubman mixed, got a good feeling on the skin. and it's really cheap.
I shoot with available light, and so I use a deodorant jar that I prop my camera on to steady it. It's a poor man's tripod. Otherwise, I would be shaky, too.
I hear ya' Kevin! It's 40 degrees in the morning and 90 degress in the afternoon here. That's why Oregonians always dress in layers....we peel them off every hour as the temperature goes up like the skin on an onion.
Thanks for the advice, and the offer. But even if I don't use it, I'm going to keep it. It's an interesting piece.
Planned Shave of the Day (30day rule in effect for October) Same setup Oct 1 - Oct 30. Working on getting good 2pass DFS as my benchmark. Ingrown hairs are all gone! No shedding of blood on any noteworthy scale...Silver Blue treating my face right!

Shave of the evening, OCtober Pre- Hot shower, The body shop vitamin E cleansing cream(my girlfriends) Soap/cream- Mitchells wool fat and Haslinger schafmilch mixed together Brush- Omega 10810 Razor- Gem micromatic open comb Blade- Gem stainless steel(2) Post- Cold water rinse, alum block and Nivea aftershave balm No aftershave splash because Im going to bed soon. But Alum block says I need to use even lighter pressure =/ but I'm getting a lot better! I wasn't gonna shave but I thought what the hell! So this shave was a bit spontaneous. I felt like this soap mix was gonna be really good, and it was! I think I'm good enough with MWF to use it on it's own. I'm gonna do that next time, but because I was gonna do a quick shave I thought Haslinger will get to boost it this time. And MAN, the brush was just filled with lather, very slick, protective, creamy and cushiony lather =D My Gem MMOC provides really good shaves, I absolutely love it. I so need to take it a bit easier on some places. And try to only go over the area under my lower lip once, but sometimes it "misses" a couple of hairs because I'm going VEEERY LIGHT. So in time technique will take care of that. IF ANYONE HAS MWF AND HASLINGER, TRY MIXING THEM TOGETHER =) just to be clear I did not grate them together or anything, I just loaded the brush on the pucks.
OCtober 8's Dove Men's Face Wash TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream Semogue 1305 Boar Brush Gillette Old Type Shark Super Chrome (2) CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Pinaud Clubman AS The TOBS Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes with my Gillette Old Type and Shark Super Chrome blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
This is first run with the Weber. Man is it smooth and not aggressive! I feel more bite with my R106 than with this. It was an awesome 2 pass shave this morning. I had a bit of a wonky angle sometimes but my face felt amazing afterwards!! I am very happy with the PH, and can't wait to break it in some more.
