No picture today. Prep: hot shower, Alba Botanical Scrub. Brush: Turkish #6 Brush. Razor: '74 Black Beauty set on 6 for the first pass, 3 for the second. Cream: Ingram Extra Cool- From Egypt. Post: cold water rinse, Barbon AS. Something happened to the water system for my apartment complex, so everybody who lives here was without water for a couple hours. I went to my mom's house nearby so I could shower and shave. It was a good shave too. 2 pass BBS with plenty of menthol!
Razor: GEM MMOC Blade: GEM Brush: Plisson synthetic Lather: Dr. Dittmar Post: Pinaud vanilla Good shave. The Plisson is extremely soft but kind of floppy.
If you are willing to try some experimentation- use a little pressure. Seriously. But use the head flat. Not slightly off. Flat. The bevel is designed so that when it sinks into the skin slightly, the blade cuts hair at the correct angle. It won't even feel like the blade is even there. This is how I do it and how the instructions say to use it and I've gotten BBS from it but some people say they need to use the head slightly off flat. I suspect flat fails for them because they are using literally no pressure.
WEDNESDAY 'Tiny' Evening shave for Tomorrow Downsized shave this evening, using both the Wee Scot Simpson brush and the wee Larkin razor. I actually look pretty silly using this little brush and razor, according to my wife, who claims someone my size (6'4" & 235lbs) has no business using shaving tools this size, but I am not truly concerned about appearances. The bottom line is both of these little guys perform admirably. A verysweet 3-pass shave topped off with the brisk burn of Snake Bite. I'm a happy 'little' camper! Addendum: my happiness was mildly tempered by the 1/2" little cut I gave myself during my last pass with the razor. I misjudged the length (an easy thing to do) where the razor ends and my cheek began…. Have a great HumpDay, everyone!
That brush is so small I imaging cleaning my keyboard with it instead of lathering up my face. Your thumb looks bigger than Wee Scot
I will definitely try this. I already use a narrower angle on the second pass because it's much more comfortable so a flat head makes sense. Thank you I will update u on how it goes
Wednesday Morning Shave Razor: Gillette New Blade: Rimei (3) Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger Soap: Proraso AS: Pino Silvestre Hydro Another perfect BBS! Pino Silvestre turned out not as I expected. It's an ordinary AS with a similar scent of Arko.

Closer but not as comfortable Today I tried a Gillette 7 o'clock sharp edge yellow blade in my Vorschlaghammer. I got a closer shave than with Personna lab blue, but not nearly as comfortable. I have a little bit of irritation and a couple very small weepers. I thin I prefer comfort over closeness. I'll use the same blade again tomorrow to see if it moderates with use. I put my WSP soap into a bigger tin and it was even easier to get excellent lather. A truly great soap. Prep: Shea Moisture PSO Soap: WSP Barbershop Brush: HIS Razor: Vorschlaghammer 39c Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock SE yellow (1) AS: Shea Moisture elixir and balm
SOTD OCtober 8, 2014 Prep: Hot shower. Noxzema Razor: iKon DLC OC Blade: Voskhod Lather: Craftsman Unscented Brush: hjm Badger Post: Alum. Dickerson WH Aftershave: Nivea Energy . Axe Shield Sensitive I went to bed at 11pm, woke up at 2am, my wife and daughter wanted to watch the blood moon. So, why not shave? Craftsman Unscented was great! Or maybe I was better? Yeah that's it. Second day using unscented soaps, both were fantastic. I pulled the hjm out, nice little brush. Cut my pinky on my right hand when I took the blade out, second time in a week I've cut myself. Better pay attention! Go out and get it!
10/8 Blood Moon shave I also woke up to take a look at the eclipse. Nice and dark at the moment! Wednesday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Sharp day 3 Stirling Black Ice SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Barbon AS Pino Silvestre EdT Another great shave which I enjoyed very, very much. I've really made a transition into soaps lately and I don't even think of using my creams these days, but soon that'll change. The Black Ice lathered beautifully for me and gave me its good cooling effect with excellent blade glide and lots of moisturizing skincare. For anyone who has sensitive skin like I do, the Gold Bond is a terrific option - it's not only very soothing and moisturizing, it's also got a nice menthol sensation. The Barbon is an awesome aftershave which I'll soon need to get again. @Can--I love the Pino Silvestre eau de toilette! @Ryan--A Mom is the most precious treasure of a person's life - treat her like a queen!
