This was another I did for a member who's a friend of mine on another forum. This blade was in bad shape when I got it. Cell rot had gotten to the tip and the edge of the blade; which meant I had to bread knife through some rust and crud to get to clean steel. The greaseless compound took care of a lot of the pitting but I wanted to maintain the stamps as much as possible since it is a dubl duck. He wanted birdseye maple, but wansn't really sure where to go from there. Well, I figured duble duck...why not old rubber ducky! The maple was colored using amber shellac, lined with brass, and finished in CA. The wedge is paduak sealed with amber shellac and finished in tru-oil. All hardware is brass, and the front I wanted to favor a ducks head a bit. Thanks for looking!
Thank you. I do like the birdseye as well, though it burns so quick if you aren't careful. That was the second set after the first got burned during sanding on the front...toodeep to sand out Live and learn.
