Cherry burl brush.

Made this brush today. Cherry burl with a silvertip knot. Can't wait to use it.

Yes. I've been a woodturner for a long time. Got into wet shaving about a year ago and saw people buying knots to restore old brushes and thought "I can make my own" the process is very similar to bottle stoppers I've been making forever. I much prefer using something hand made than mass produced items.

 

You will become addicted to makes and mods like two, three, or more of us who will not be named. Enjoy the addiction!

 

Here's a new one in maple burl. Set the knot 1/4 inch deeper than I normally do for more back bone. Do you think it threw off the proportions? I did at first and thought I'd shim it out but now I actually think it's ok.
