1. Good idea for many, but not me. Variety is the spice of life! Good luck to those who participate.
  2. I would not, could not with my slant.
    I cannot, shall not, I can't, can't , can't .
I will not try it with my slim.
I'll use my razors, all of them.
I love my razors, like my son
I love them each and every one.
  3. I'll grab a sword and fight the horde! I'll sign up and my girlfriend will be my systems of checks and balances.

    -Razorock Jaws/Cadet OC
    -Astra SPs
    -Proraso White shave soap
    -Whipped Dog Synthetic Brush
-Clubman AS and Witch Hazel with Aloe.
    -Kiss my Face Moisturizer
  4. Now that deserves a double "like"

  6. Dude, it's 30 days... Will they collect dust in that amount of time? ;)
    FatherofSquirrel and Herm2502 like this.
  7. I never kept the 30 day rule before, and I have new stuff to try, so No.

I couldn't eat green eggs and ham for a month either.:happy069:

  9. I cannot stick to just one soap.
I will not try it. Nope, nope, nope.
I love my scuttles, mugs, and blades.
I line them up like a parade.
I try a new one every day.
I will not stick to one, I say.
I applaud you in your fine endeavors
But I will use Astras and Feathers.
Old Spice, Bay Rum, American Blend.
My shaving choices have no end.

  12. Well, if you use a balm or lotion,
For one straight month, you'll pledge devotion.
And sticking to a single brush
Could keep your wallet feeling flush.
    Merkur or Mühle, doesn't matter.
Just pick the former, or the latter.
And keep the extras in your den.
One razor cuts as well as ten!

As an aside: Dr. Seuss used an electric razor.

  13. I'm not tooting my own horn,
But November's the month that I was born.
It would not be much of a present,
if I shaved like I was a third world peasant.
So to celebrate my arrival here,
I'll mix and match my shaving gear.
  14. I pretty much did this in September, and it was worthwhile. It also made me appreciate using the same thing over and over again. I won't be joining, but I think it would be good for some to try it.
  15. This is as easy as falling off a log (or a bar stool if that is easier). Just use hardware and software that you know you can live with for a month, or longer.

    TSD Lanolin Soap
    WSP Stubby
Fat Handle Gillette Tech, pre-war vintage
    Personna Lab blades
    Captains Choice Bay Rum AS

I would take this shave kit on a year long trip any day.

  17. While I'm not committing to this, part of me wants to try one set up for a month to see if I can make a month worth of different sotd photos with the same kit.
  18. or the same photo, thirty times
youngunn, Troy M and Shotwell like this.
  19. This is a great idea. Part of me wants to do it and the other says NO. However, I think that I will choose a setup and give it a shot. After all, that is the way I used to shave in the beginning. Back then it was much more simple. I used a Schick L with a Schick blade and Palmolive Lime shaving cream. There was no special prep, and I did not use after shave. Those were more simple days.

Right now, since I didn't use my birth year razor in OCtober, I am leaning this way:
    NOVember
    C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream
    Omega Pro 98 boar brush
    Gillette Super Speed '47
    Astra SP
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

  20. about how long does a round,a puck, or a cake usually last?
I'm not asking for specifics, just a ball park. I know everyone is different.
I've never stuck with one, always rotated.
