Cherry burl brush.

    Beautiful brush.:happy088: I think the proportions look nice and would work well for face lathering, but I think the loft may be a little short for bowl lathering, unless you were using a horn palm bowl. :)

    Also... I think the feel of a brush (both knot on face and handle in hand) are more important than visual aesthetics. However, both brushes in this thread are drop dead gorgeous!

    I think I like the look of the maple handle even more than the cherry. Its shape somehow distinguishes it from the herd. I like that its handle is a little extra "bulby."

    That is very nice!

    One of the best things about cherry wood is that it will darken on it's own
    over time. I've got a pair of end tables I made from cherry many years ago.
    Every time the neighbors come over, I get an offer on them.

    Keep 'hold of that brush jbennet, it's just going to get better and better!

    Thanks Tattoobob. Yes I made them. I've been turning for years and recently go into wet shaving. I had never thought of making a shaving brush before.
