New here. Definitely didn't realize there was such a following for a good shave. I got on a kick about a couple years ago wanting to go old school. Co-workers I talked about it with thought I was a fruit and that the old stuff was all horrible and that's why everyone uses the modern. This is what I ended up at without finding such an informative forum. I now want to go with a straight razor. I just want a basic setup simple to maintain, without buying low quality first then spending money twice to get the good stuff. I don't use my DE every time. About half the time. Certainly if I let it go a few days it goes through longer hair easier. I use my badger brush every single time though. Wish I'd been introduced to brushes when I was a teen. This is far from the manicured setups 90% of the threads on here show, but I'm used to it. Except the Stetson. Not quite my favorite. Used a small Stetson country bottle and liked it. Bought the big regular one and its "meh".

Haha. Thanks guys. The name is just the same handle I use on all my RC forums to keep it simple for me. I've done the radio controlled hobby 9 years. But that's not for here ;). I do feel like this is a perfect forum for my shaving interests. Are the majority of members here in the US?

Am I able to participate in the November newbie giveaway? I signed up last night. Can't see going around making 15 useful posts in a day.

New here myself welcome. I believe you are eligible for novembers giveaways. I read that in the rules about signing up on the last day.

If you are looking for a quality straight you can try Straightrazordesigns or I have has real good luck with TheSuperiorShave

    Welcome aboard, Mike.
I'm not so sure I agree with "far from the manicured setups". Looks like a nice open comb, some feather blades, and some TOBS Lavender. It's hard to go wrong with those as a start.

Thanks a lot guys. I used this today. So smooth and left smelling like a boss. Now I'm here I'm getting more info and ideas. I remember the first time I used this a couple years ago. It's a lot different than with a normal. For a long time I still used the old disposable Gillette for the goatee and sideburns shaping. Got it down now.
Razorburn123 --- do my posts count in all sections of this sites forum categories? I'll browse around a lot tonight and get some out there. Legit ones. Not " how nice" and "sweet" comments lol.
