Tabac shave stick Semogue 2000 Fatip head on a RR Jaws handle Gillette Platinum (white) (2) Alum Pitralon Classic Excellent shave, tabac is marvelous, tons of lather facelathering with the 2000, still nothing compares to Tabac lather. This was my second shave with the white Gillette Platinums, and so far it is an excellent blade, sharp and smooth, it didn't loose any of its sharpness so far and I'm starting to love them. It was a 3 pass , no irritation BBS shave. A good shave really makes my evening

The #6 had no problem whipping the Cade into a yogurt like consistency. the Red Tip and the Frenchy dealt with the stubble with ease. The Aoud Leather will have me smelling great for the rest of the day. Have a blessed day!!
I have similar wimpy skin issues. Maybe try a PTFE (teflon) coated blade? I am a fan of Silver Blue, also like Voskhod. I find Stainless Blades like Astra, 7 O'Clock, Shark, etc all seem to increase redness and swelling. I hope you figure it out!
Great job on that brush, very nice. Is that wickham from the more recent batch? I haven't seen that packaging, and am curious if you picked up any of the new scents? Would you say the scent strength has increased? Thanks.
As do I. Throat irritation is the bane of us sensitive-skinned fellows. I have to admit, however, that rarely do I get any throat irritation anymore since I made the switch to straight razors. Perhaps this is due to the lighter touch, or fewer repeated strokes than with a DE razor—but post-SR shave, the alum block rarely finds a 'hot spot.'

Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my '47 Gillette Super Speed and Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Ditto Shave Plan ~ Thursday, November 6, 2014 Razor: Mergress LH Blade: Polsilver SI Brush: Omega Pro Boar 10098 Lather: Barrister and Mann - Cheshire Today's was such an outstanding BBS shave I'm going to do it again tomorrow.
NoVember! A rare 24 hour interval on the shave...worked well, no irritation on 2pass DFS, good enough for a Wednesday! PS- I feel Silver Blue and Voskhod are equivalent in performance for me, both are Teflon coated Russian Blades.
That's a thought, but I usually get 6-8 decent shaves with these blades. "Decent," for me, includes neck irritation.
