Prep: face wash and hot towel, later and hot towel

Post: Captains Choice Cat O'Nine Tails

Had some extra time so decided to prep a little more. While the hot towel soaked on my face, I peered into my cabinet and decided to change my aftershave and use my Cat O Nine Tails. 3 pass shave and all is good this morning. I love having Friday's off, except for I am going in for First Aid/CPR/AED certification, but I don't have to wear a tie.

    Friday morning -

Prep - Noxzema & hot towel
    Lather - RazoRock P.160 & suribachi
    Brush - Ever Ready wood refurb w/ 22mm 2-band @ 42mm
Razor - Wade & Butcher India Steel 13/16

    2 pass
Warm water rinse & cold water splash
    Alum block & Witch-hazel AS

Another mild morning here - 26ºF/-3ºC, clear sky and we may see 65ºF/18ºC by this afternoon. Kicked off with what's quickly become a very trusty Wade & Butcher and the P.160. The lil' 22mm badger I made has turned out to be a favourite as well. Just a nice plain wood handle in tung oil and the 2-band set nice an' low. It's on the smaller side but I generally prefer that to a big mop of a brush. Alum bloc an' witch-hazel, as per, and I'm fit fer another day. Have a good 'un folks.

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Aristrocrat, Dubl Duck Goldgedge straight razor
    Blade: Wilkinson Sword (7)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Tabac
After: Home made ASB, Tabac after shave
    Cologne: Tabac Eau De Cologne

Tabac Day! A Darn Fine Shave is had whenever Tabac is involved. The #6 whipped the Tabac to a thick and rich consistency. The Duck and the Aristocrat had no problems mowing down the stubble. The after shave and the EDC will have me smelling good for the rest of the day.

    Have a blessed day!

    Fresh Shave Friday...

What a great start to a task filled day. I used some BSBC orange & ylang ylang soap which has menthol added for a nice cooling effect. The short handle black beauty is one of the most efficient shavers I own, and today was no exception. Enjoy your Friday gents...

Duke 3 in best---Well after never shedding in the 2 plus years I've had this brush,it has now become a shedder. At least 6 + hairs a use,I never dropped it,always rinsed with warm water and I never mashed the hairs,I only use the tips and use light pressure,I baby all my brushes and never had this problem before. No use going to the vendor or even Simpson,I'll just keep using it until it's demise and have it re-knotted with maybe a Manchurian.Bummer,I loved this brush, but at least it wasn't super expensive and I did have many great shaves with it.

    Razor: Gillette Slim (k3) 1965 (5)
    Brush: Fuller Amber Badger 1920s - 1940s
    Mug: OS Cobalt Blue 1985
    Cream: Maca Root
    Blade: Feather (2)
Pre shave: Tree Hut Shea body wash Mango
Post shave:T.N. Dickerson’s Witch Hazel, Jack Black balm, OS vintage Shulton Lime

    image.jpg
The Fuller Badger brush has nice soft tips that Is amazing for its age. Whipped up the Maca Root with no problem in less than a minute. Nice slick cushion and I really like the sent. After the Castle Forbes this in my favorite cream. I really like the slim and next to my FB it is my go to razor. The heavy handle and head gave me a nice smooth shave with no pressure with a Feather blade. The Shea Mango for the pre-shave helped give me a nice no burn shave. My technique is getting better on my neck, especially with a slick lather and sharp blade. The T.N. Dickerson's WH felt good on my face and that natural witch Hazel scent was nice for a change. After cleaning my razor and a little spray of isopropyl alcohol to help, dry the innards, I smoothed on some Jack Black. A splash of that great Old Spice Lime and I'm off to the range. Remember gun control is hitting your target.

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Lush Coalface face wash soap

Soap/cream- Stirling Bay rum shaving soap and Nivea original shave cream

    Brush- Omega boar 10810

    Razor- Gem micromatic open comb

Blade- 009 RD, dont know the actually brand(1)

Post- Cold water rinse, Old Spice Whitewater aftershave and Nivea original aftershave balm

Shaved off about a weeks worth of growth. Loaded my MMOC with a new blade and facelathered Srirling bay rum soap. I used a blade with the imprint 009 RD, I'm not sure but I think the Gem blade is sharper. But this blade didn't give me any burning, it felt much smoother.

I had to take it easy because I have 3 bumps that hurt. That's actually what's been keeping me from shaving. It was the first time I attempt a shave so much growth without trimming the beard first. The first pass was slow but effective with the MMOC.

Performed 3 passes WTG with some XTG strokes. I ended up with a really nice shave. I added some Nivea shave to the last of the lather in the brush to make it a bit more dense and protective for the last shave.

I forgot that letting the beard grow is a little irritating for the skin, I like the clean shaven look better as well =)

I realized that I should go back to my Stirling samples and use them! Very nice lather

Day 4 on a blade? I think I would change out your blade a day earlier. It'll cost you almost nothing.

Nice razor! I like the scent of the Sterling Bay Rum but can't get past the way it looks, kind of dirty. It also leaves a residue on everything that is hard to get off. How about you?

Thank you! It was a gift from my good friend Kerry (razorburn123), Its one of my favorit razors, great performer.

The scent of Stirling bay rum is very very nice. Its strange because the first time I tried it, I was more like "meh". I have a B&M sample, but haven't tried it. But I know I wanna try some more bay rum soaps and maybe aftershaves.

With the residue I haven't noticed it actually, I'm gonna pay more attention next time. I know I get some residue with proraso, its very noticeable. But not with this soap. I know the soap looks weird. For some reason I like the way Stirlings soaps look, it make them look more natural. Especially the Sandalwood soap
