A great shave this morning. The P.160 is excellent and the Packwood cuts just a smooth as anything. Standard prep and alum bloc & witch-hazel post, as per. It's a beautiful day in the Sierras, hope you have a good 'un too folks.

  5. Sunday

    Prep: wash with CeraVe cleanser
    Soap: Dapper Dragon unscented
    Brush: HIS synthetic
    Razor: Feather AS-D2
    Blade: Feather
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

The Dapper Dragon soap is an excellent performer. This was an outstanding shave, smooth, close, and comfortable. I felt bad about the extra lather left in my big HIS brush after three passes.

  6. I agree Kevin, that little FaTip Piccolo wanted to eat my face. I put it on a Weber Bulldog handle and that seemed to do the trick. With the heavier and thicker handle, it was controllable and had a more kinder gentler personality. :D
  7. Adonis,

How was the Mr Taylor? I love that stuff !!

hot shower w/Zumbar Cedar bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    SchickGrip 2 passes
    Schick (6)
    VDH Deluxe boar
Wm Neumann Heartwood soap in a warm bowl
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Wm Neumann Heartwood AS

Didn't really need to shave this morning but I've got a dress-up event this afternoon so I did a couple of passes with the SchickGrip that was still out on the shelf from yesterday. I think it's time to whip out another 6 bucks and retire this VDH Deluxe boar. I've used it enough that it's starting to lose some of it's backbone. Maybe I'll splurge and buy 2

Finished up the stick of Palmolive I had been using and looked in the box of plenty and pulled out a puck of IK. I figured it would be a good one for the winter with the heavy percentage of shea butter. A very nice shave today. Since moving to a more mild razor, I rarely feel the need for any aftershave products. I still use my Alum block, but that is more out of habit than need.

    Pre: Shower
Razor: Used English Tech. (Pretty sure Charlie Bronson used to shave his head with it)
    Blade: Rapira Platinum
    Cream: Proraso Red
    Post: Stetson Cooling Moisture Aftershave

Cold, breezy, rainy Sunday morning. A perfect NW Fall day. Decided to warm it up a bit with Sandalwood and Amber scents. A decent shave, and a blade I'm not all that fond of but did right by me.
  13. Love the description on the brush, lol. Build lather with a brick

  17. Kerry,
It has the backbone of a Paddle Board Oar. It could make whipped cream. The tips are softening up slowly. Boars will be boars!
  18. Thanks! That's what I'm looking for. It's priced right. :)

  19. I wanted to shave with my new toy (the Wilky 7 day) tonight badly, but after carrying the cabinet and setting up all my gear in it I am exhausted and not feeling well.

    So tomorrow night I suppose.
  20. Save it till you feel good enough to enjoy it. Rest well.
