The in laws gave me some free gear today. So I suppose I have to shave with that old Spice handle... The solid brass is pretty awesome in hand.
I don't see where there is any harm in breaking out the cart razor occasionally. For me, it would serve as a reminder of what led me to wet shaving. Receiving such a gift from your in-laws is very nice. In all the years I've been married, I've received only one gift from my mine. It was a length of new hemp rope with a noose fashioned at one end. (The brush is cool! )
I have been seeing that stand on the bay. I'm wondering if the notch that is holding the cart razor will hold a DE razor? Or perhaps another brush. Love Old Spice stuff, mostly because I'm a retired Sailor.
I know, I was very surprised and happy at the gift. They were using as a display in the bathroom. When they found out I was collecting all things razors they gave it to me. I love that old spice handle, it's wonderful.
Outstanding gift! The Trac II is an outstanding razor. The brush may or may not work with the original knot. I have two Old Spice brushes, one shed like crazy every time I tried to use it while the other one works great and never sheds.
Nice Old Spice handle...I actually used a store brand Trac2 cart with a Bump Fighter handle this morning for a quick shave. Doing my normal preshave it a gave me a pretty good shave. Not quite as good as my normal DE shave, but a little bit quicker, maybe DFS-, but with no irritation, which surprised me. I bet if you could get a Trac2 shave head that could be screwed on to a DE handle, like say a Weber BullDog handle or Fat Handle Tech, then put a Trac2 cart on it, it would give a stellar shave with a decent preshave prep. Has anyone ever heard of an after market Trac2 head that will fit a DE handle?
