This is how ridiculous the Fatboy craze has gotten.

Everyone is stuck on the Fatboy craze on the Bay.

Wow, I don't know why somebody didn't snatch that up for only $20. A super rare non adjustable fatboy.

When I see these, I send the seller a nice message, nothing wrong with sharing knowledge.

 

There are probably cases of a seller legitimately not knowing the difference, but I'm willing to wager most of them do and are hoping that the buyer doesn't.

I have gotten no reply before, and have had replies, and in one case, the seller offered me a discount to anything she had in her store. Which I thought was kind. It's all about PIF.

It is a Fatboy. Since Gillette never sold a "Fatboy" razor, the nickname can be legitimately applied to any razor with a relatively fat handle. It is not deceptive, since the seller is usually unfamiliar with razors. Non-adjustable Fatboys are incredibly rare, so that razor would be expected to sell for $1999.00, not $19.99.



It will probably sell soon enough.

I've sent notes to sellers before. Most who've replied have been gracious about the heads up.

 

My favorite was one time on eBay I saw someone selling a straight razor, and when I clicked on the image, it was a tube key from Crabtree & Evelyn, the kind used for rolling up a metal tube of their shave cream. Maybe if you sharpened one of the edges . . .

 

Of course they did. No one is going to admit to trying to scam the masses.
Seriously, why don't you ever see a Fatboy listed as a Superspeed?
