The Gillette Tech is a nice mild razor for me even with a Feather blade..The brush whipped up a thick warm lather in the OS Mug as it was sitting on a wash cloth, for padding, in the sink that was filled with hot water. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm and some Clubman. It's cold!

Nineteen degrees and fair today. The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my '47 Gillette Super Speed and Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Extra-BBS this morning and so frigidly-nice after using my Super Speed/7 AM combination, along with the Frost_byte soap - man, does this stuff lather in the blink of an eye and does it ever freeze a guy's face off. It's definitely my 2nd coldest soap after my Stirling Glacials. The Gold Bond moisturizer gave me an additional cold punch, and when I slapped on the Rubby Dubby Doo my eyes started tearing a little. This shave couldn't possibly be better. ;) :D

    Prep: warm wash
Lather: The Soap Exchange Barber Shoppe/Old Spice cream
    Brush: Omega 10006 boar
    Razor: Gillette New Tech LC
    Blade: Voskhod (4)
    Post: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

I opened up the tin of Barber Shoppe beer soap from the Soap Exchange with unknown expectations. The pungent yet pleasant odor of a hint of beer came as a bit of surprise. I didn't know what to expect from the lather so I soaked it for around 5 minutes and was met with an initial response similar to a modern Williams, light, airy, dry, etc. I worked for about 5 minutes and could not get a lather going at all, so filled the container with water and put it aside to think about itself until tomorrow. I grabbed my Old Spice cream and face lathered quickly and made a 2 pass, cool water shave (the wife just hopped in her shower as I started to shave so quickly filled my sink with cool water). I don't enjoy the cool water shave. There I said it. Sorry J.R.

I think the Soap Exchange soap holds promise. I'll make sure and soak it a bit longer before I use it again and hopefully will approach it with a little more time available to see what it can do. Many of my new soaps are always a little difficult to lather up for the first time or two, so I am not concerned at all.

I toned down on the amount of shaving cream I used, but pretty much the same shave as yesterday's. This one was not as comfortable and just a hair less smooth...
