I opened a new tin of The Soap Exchange Cool Water soap this morning and experienced the exact same thing. After working with it for a few minutes, I gave up and went to Proraso cream and I didn't have enough time to play with a new soap. I was able to quickly work up soap suds, but I never could get it to turn creamy. I'll work with it this evening and see what I can do.

13 degrees (feels like -1) and at least a foot of snow on the ground. Made for a very arctic type trudge of a walk this morning!

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: PAL Adjustable, Imperial Razor Warranted Barbers Favorite straight razor
Blade: Personna injector super stainless (1)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave
Cologne: Tom Ford - Tobacco Vanille

Well, I pulled out the PAL Adjustable and installed a new Personna blade. The MWF lathered up nicely. I started to use the PAL and with one pass it seemed that the stubble was not reduced at all. Putting down the PAL, I continued on with the Barbers Favorite. Moving slowly and methodically the stubble was removed. With only a small nick on my chin, I ended up with a Darn Fine Shave +. The AV brought the chill and the TV will keep me smelling great all day.

    Have a blessed day!

    Dalan D'Men Cool SC
    Whipped Dog Silver Tip brush
    Schick 66/G4 razor
    Personna blade
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel/Sage mix
    CO Bigelow 1585 cologne

Another 1st today using the Dalan D'Men SC and it's pretty darn good regardless that it is a budget cream. Lots of creamy, yougurty lather that lead to a very nice shave indeed. Will definitely keep this one in the rotation.

iKon SC 102,UFO Godzilla Handle/Voskhod (2)---The 102 slant head came in yesterday,I may like this version better than the original iSlant, and that's a hard act to follow. It's easier to load, might be a smoother shave, but it's still to early to tell.I got a very smooth shave from it today.I'll probably use it all week with different handles to find the sweet spot. The Godzilla handle is pretty hefty, but well balanced,so far I am impressed :D

Cool & clear again this morning, 8ºF/-13ºC at 06:00 and maybe 55ºF/13ºC by this afternoon. Lots of sun again today and no breeze, so it looks to be a beautiful November day all around. The Tillotson was great this morning, as were the Cella & DIY 2-band, as ever. Have a good 'un folks.

Was reminded today of how unforgiving the 46 Aristocrat is for me. I think the Supermax Sunrise blade wasn't a good choice. Really felt it on the 3rd pass. More than a few weepers, but some mentholated Nivea at the end fixed most.

Here's hoping to a better shave tomorrow!

Oh and I now have enough moustache to put some wax in to brush it and train the growth. Handle bar here I come!

    RedTip Tuesday...

I was in the mood for a good classic barbershop scent and paired the Red Tip with a fresh GSB blade. Great results yet again from this setup.

I recently visted Cold River Soapworks, and it looks like Larry is only selling his select line of soap. The website looks great, but it makes me wonder if the classic and original lines are done?

    Have a good one gents.
