Why on earth would you want to watch a show on shaving? Unless it was a female shaving her legs? Otherwise, that would get fewer viewers than a primetime MSNBC show.

    Radiotube and GDCarrington like this.

Ten years ago, a video segment on the NBC Today show got millions of viewers and single-handedly jump-started the current wetshaving revival. Here is a link to the transcript (the original video has now been taken down and archived):

here is the updated version, should the original link stop working:

Perhaps a regular 30 min or hour long show would not generate enough interest, but an occasional short segment now and again would probably be very well received. Hey, they could line up plenty of advertisers. Maybe Mr. Greenberg would care to do some additional segments, either for Today or some other show?

Agreed, keep it independent! If the show was on TV or cable or an infomercial it would get infiltrated with people just looking to make a buck or push their agenda. The idea is great, implementing it in the spirit for which it is intended would be impossible.

My post was merely intended to note that streaming media outlets also count as media channels, not just broadcast and cable TV. Just because video is distributed other than by TV does not mean they are not profit oriented or pushing an agenda. While very informative, a number of those YouTube channels I listed are run by wetshaving retailers.

In fact, I strongly believe that a traditional wetshaving segment would be much more beneficial if shown on a broadcast TV network. The reason is that broadcast TV has a vastly greater reach and diverse audience than a YouTube shaving channel. It would therefore reach countless tens of millions of people who had never heard of or considered traditional wetshaving as a possibility. Some folks might respond "Prove it or it is bs", and rightly so. So here is proof:

The network TV broadcast on a nationally viewed show:
Transcript of Corey Greenberg's Today show wetshaving segment

    The result:

From 4 Ways My Computer Taught Me How To Shave With A DE Razor:
From The Best A Man Can Get:
The ever-expanding Art of Shaving chain does the same thing at a brick-and-mortar retail level.

From A Short History of Method Shaving:
For whatever reason, wetshaving forumites seem to believe that small businesses are good and honest, and that larger businesses are suspect or downright evil. That is rather surprising given the astroturfing and conflicts of interest on some forums involving small or tiny businesses. News flash people: There is no direct correlation between the size of a business and its integrity or lack thereof. It is the leadership that determines a firm's honesty and integrity or lack thereof. Remember, businesses exist to make money and are not charities or public interest groups. Also important to keep in mind is that there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. There are good deals to be had, however.

If you see a business that is honest, has integrity and treats its customers well, please do publicly say so. If a business is unethical or has lousy customer service, please give us a heads-up. If the warning (the politely worded, calmly, logically and rationally stated warning) is censored, then it might make sense to post it on a different venue and also call out the censorship.

For me even a weekly half-hour shaving show, whatever that might actually be, would be as exciting as the bazillion cooking and remodeling shows on now. Just bring back the old style shaving product commercials; razors, blades preshave and aftershave stuff.
