Kerry, are you a fan of black licorice? That's what I smell with that soap. It's still a great performer, but the scent is not for everyone. Hit or miss...
@JR Reyes, its new! My wife gave it to me for my birthday. She purchased it from an etsy seller - https://www.etsy.com/shop/sarahwelchpottery who has scuttles, bowls and then other pottery she makes in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. Check her out.
My wife just bought me a scuttle from the same potter that she is going to give me for Christmas. I accidentally found it a couple of weeks ago. It's a beautiful scuttle. I can't wait to use it.
Menthol Monday Monday 11/24/14 Prep: glycerin soap Pre-Shave Oil: Shave Secret Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery Razor: Fat Boy Blade: Feather Lather: PDP w/ Stirling Glacial Obsidian Post: Alum sprayed on Witch Hazel: Generic unscented A/S: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man Balm: Avon Musk Marine After Shave Conditioner Stirling Glacial obsidian is a very chilling menthol. It is also nice and slick. PDP, on the other hand, has once again failed to impress. Unfortunately, I will be taking it out of my normal rotation. I have been using the Fat Boy for a few days now and it does shave well.

11/24/2014 Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Burham, H. Boker Master Razor straight razor Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE (6) Brush: Turkish #6 Soap: Stirling - Frozen Tundra After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave Cologne: Aqua H2O A cold and decent shave this morning. The #6 whipped up the Frozen Tundra to a good consistency. It was cool, slick and protective. The Boker did its job well. I had to be careful with the Burham razor. The corners of the blade are exposed and caused some irritation under my chin. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill for another 20 minutes. The Aqua H2O will keep me smelling good for the rest of the day. Have a blessed day!

A little tugging but not uncomfortable, passable shave I would gauge it is. I have the feeling I will start tomorrows shave with it, but likely will not finish with it.
Believe it or not, it truly was an accident. I was looking for a roll of tape and my wife had hidden the scuttle in the drawer in our home office where we keep extra tape. I don't understand why she thought that was a good place to hide it, but that's what she did.
