    NOVember 26's ZCOLDWATER.jpg (87% done)

Nivea for Men Sensitive Face Wash
    C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream
    Omega Pro 98 boar brush
    Gillette Super Speed '47
    Astra SP
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

Forty degrees and light rain this morning. The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my '47 Gillette Super Speed and Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... Just four shaves left in NOVember.

  4. If you referring to the original Iridium Supers in the Blue package, they are still being made and you can still order them. There is a fine gentlemen in Spain who sells them.
    Here:http://www.superiridiumblades.com/
They are the original blades and I have been ordering from him for 3 years, now. Excellent blades. The only difference is that the newer ones only come with a whitish single wrapper and they also don't use such large glue spots, any longer which is great news, for me anyway. :D

I hope it isn't against the rules to post this link/website. If it is, then I do apologize. :ashamed001:

  6. SOTD: Earthy Green Edition
Barrister and Mann Fougere Aromatique soap
    Plisson synthetic brush
Merkur head with custom SS handle
    Gillette Black Ninja blade
    Pre de Provence balm
    CO Bigelow Elixir Green cologne

I have been using this B&M Fougere soap a lot since getting it a couple of weeks ago. I love how well it pairs with the Pre de Provence balm, despite the fact that the scents are very different. They are both green scents and the face feel is exceptional. Great shave.

  7. SoTD, Tue, Nov. 25, or, back in the saddle.

So, the Yuma experiment concluded, I took a day off from shaving (not my choice, busy day off, never got the time to do it), and two days off from the shave of the day thread. So, this is my comeback shave.

    Pre- homemade menthol/clove oil
    Water- hot, soap/cold, shave
    Soap- vintage Williams
    Mug- ugly
    Brush- strong set
    Razor- Gem 1912
    Blade- CVS
    Rinse- Thayers lavender
    Aftershave- Command
    Lotion- British Sterling
    Cologne- British Sterling

So, this being my first shave in a day, and my first non Yuma shave in a couple days, I decided to do it right. I have been striving for barely DFS during the Yuma experiment, so today, it was going to be BBS. I decided to take a SE on the journey, because my last SE shave was not so good. My ornate handle Gem 1912 is not the prettiest, but it shaves well. Today it did great. Such a good shave. Total BBS, and not fully grown in yet! 12 hours later, and my neck and chin are starting to come in. Cheeks, mustache areas... still smooth! It is kind of weird.
Also, vintage Williams is just about the best soap ever. I really love the stuff. It has earned its own mug to live in. So I had to go out to the thrift store and get some more mugs. I bought 6 for 25¢ each, one for $1, and two lather bowls for a total of $5. And in further stocking shaving supplies for the apocalypse news, I got this great set of British Sterling stuff at Wal-Mart for under $10. A bottle of the classic cologne, and some quite good after shave balm. They topped off today's shave nicely.

  8. Is this the first Mongoose SOTD? It looks like you went with the satin finish. I didn't shave today, because I'm expecting the mongoose tour razor tomorrow. How did you like it?

  9. Oh, that's what I was referring to, they're slightly harder to get I suppose. Lol

    Thanks for the correction !

Very good shave. No burns, no nicks, no errors. It's now one of my 2 remaining SEs (the OCMM may or may not stay around) and using it with the coated stainless next time should only be better.

Follow up: Playtex Baby Magic balm (don't laugh, it works great) and Skin Bracer. I denounce myself - they actually compliment each other.

OMG, I never felt a freeze like this before from the Glacial Obsidian soap - maybe it was just my imagination but within one second of me starting to lather myself up the menthol power hit me so hard that I started getting palpitations! This is one of Rod's finest creations, and I hope he continues to keep stocking it because I absolutely love it. The Anherb conditioner added plenty of extra cooling and the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel gave me a final menthol bombardment which I can still feel. BBS as can possibly be! ;) :D

Barbon today. 5 seconds: load & go with the WD Silvertip. Always great lather! Viking’s Sword still in the FH Tech. Great, smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Barbon. Nice menthol finish!

    Pre - Corn Huskers
    Soap - TABAC
    Brush - Turkish #6
    Razor - L3 Slim Adjustable (3)
    Blade - Astra SP (2 3/4)
    AS - Lucky Tiger

The more I use the slim adj. the more I like it. DFS on neck and lip and BBS on cheeks. TABAC also continues to impress me, very slick and creamy easy lather.
Over all extremely good shave today.
