    Thankful
Today I am thankful for many blessings, including my loving wife who made me a delicious breakfast this morning in addition to all her work on dinner for this evening. I am thankful for being able to spend time with family when so many cannot. I am thankful for the traditional shaving communities which nurtured my interest in our hobby, and I'm thankful for all the artisan soap makers who are so generous with their time and knowledge while still somehow finding time to create and distribute their wonderful products. Finally, I am thankful for a great shave today... It was two day's growth because I woke up late for work yesterday. I hadn't used my Plisson in a while, and it worked like a champ. Synergy/PAA Pumpkin 3.14 is excellent soap that lathers easily, smells great, and leaves my face feeling better than when I started. I finished up with Krampert's Finest Bay Rum, which pairs well with anything and never lets me down.
    Have a Great Thanksgiving

today's shave was crowded. grandson needed to shave, he did two passes, unusual technique. sorta of all over.I stuck with the three pass method.
the milagu black is definitely a brushless cream. no way to make lather. augmented with real shave soap,I got a nice shave. finished with iced musk.
must have been strong, it made the penguin puke.

    THURSDAY
I decided to break out the old R41 today in lieu of another straight razor for this morning's ritual. I was rewarded with an extremely close 3-pass shave, completed in about half the time it normally takes to shave with an SR.
Almost a 'mindless' routine as shaving with a DE, even one as notoriously aggressive as this Mühle, doesn't require nearly the amount of intense concentration as a straight. Near BBS results so no denying this is one fine razor!
Have a blessed Thursday and Thanksgiving, all!

    Pre- Corn Huskers

Thinking getting up earlier than normal to prep and put bird in the oven affected my technique. Couple of weepers today and more than normal sting with Alum Block. The end result was still a DFS and the realization that even with the issues I encounted today, still 99.9% better than carts!

Mild and partly overcast here this morning, 28ºF/-2ºC at 07:00, clearing this afternoon with highs 65ºF/18ºC. A great shave with the Joseph Smith this morning, this one seems to be holding it's edge nicely as well. The Mitchell's & SOC were aces, as ever. Standard pre- & -post, all for a lovely turkey day shave. Have a good 'un folks.

    Thursday:
hot shower w/Yardley Jasmine Pearl bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    Gillette Senator 3+ passes
    Personna Platinum (red) (2)
    VDH Deluxe boar
Van Yulay Jamaican Me Crazy soap in a warm bowl
    GFT Spanish Leather cream
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Pinaud Clubman Musk AS cologne

Very good shave today and probably the best shave to date with my Senator. I like a closed comb better than an open comb but I like this razor more each time I use it. It makes me wonder about having my Sheraton replated since the worn finish on that particular piece of equipment doesn't glide as well as the shiny Senator and maybe I'd like it a bit better if it didn't seem to drag.

Tried out a soap at the request of a friend and I'm not sure why it's called a soap since it's more like a gel. The label says it's made with Emu and Argan oil and you're supposed to massage about a quarter size amount into your face with a brush adding water as necessary working the product into a lather. Of course I didn't follow the directions. I put some in my bowl and soaked the bowl in a sink full of hot water while I showered just like I do most days. When I got ready to shave I noticed that some of the product appeared to have evaporated so I added more and whipped up a thin lather. The scent was great and the product was super slick but it lacked cushion so for my final pass and a half I added a good squirt of GFT Spanish Leather cream. My impression was this is probably a good product for head shaving more so than face shaving. It may perform better in soft water but for me it required too much product to produce too little lather. It would probably be well suited as an additive to provide glide rather than something to use alone. All of that aside, now that it's a few hours since I shaved, I can definitely feel the positive effect that the oils had on my dry skin.

Finally, I'm very thankful for an insane amount of shaving gear and products in my den and I just added a bunch more yesterday so I need to get it posted in The Haul.
Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating today!
