Friday hot shower Grooming Co. synth Proraso PPB (white tub) Mama Bear's Lemon Ice iKon SC 102/Personna Lab (ditched),this had to be a dud, extremely rough, ditched after a pass on my left side of face.Resumed with a Feather(1),very smooth with the 102 slant. cold water rinse Monster Block Alum cold water rinse Tend Skin Stirling Lemon Chill WH mixed with a pea sized amount of 444 Thierry Mugler A*Men Pure Malt Despite the rough beginning this turned out to be a very smooth shave, face and dome BBS! Turns out the Feather blade becomes somewhat tamed in the slant.Very smooth in the SC 102,I don't know what happened with the Personna,it felt like I was shaving with a serrated knife or a saw.I'll re-try another next week and see if the same thing happens or if it was really a dud. Stay frosty,my friends!
Having sufficiently recovered from my traditional over indulgence in gastronomic delights, I decided to dedicate todays shave to the knuckleheads out there today fighting crowds of other knuckleheads and insane traffic just to get a “deal” on some piece of consumer junk that will be obsolete by summer, instead of enjoying the time off from work with their families. Ok rant over. Time to shave!... That Shave Life!
SoTD, Friday, Nov. 28, or, single edge fever Music- Black Angels, Passover Water- hot, soap / cold, shave Soap- vintage Williams Brush- vintage Ever Ready Razor- Gem 1912 Damaskeen Rinse- Thayers lavender Aftershave- Stetson Lotion- Kiehl's Cologne- Stetson I just can't get enough single edge! I don't know what it is about them, but they keep sneaking in to my rotation and pushing the scheduled DEs out of their turns. Today I had planned to use a Super Speed, then switched to an injector, then remembered that I had an open comb Micromatic yet to try, so I switched. Which made me recall that I had gotten a nice, cased, Gem 1912 Damaskeen last week... So I switched it up again! I think I made the right call. This 1912 may be my favorite of the several 1912 types I own. Williams vintage soap also keeps creeping in and disrupting my rotation plans. It is just so good! I know that vintage shave gear isn't for everyone, but if you haven't used an old Williams puck, you should really make an effort to do so. And as far as new at retail shaving supplies, I am loving this Kiehl's aftershave balm. It is funny to me that my two favorite AS balms are this one, which costs about $20, and Score, which is $1. The very personification of YMMV!
6/8 Gong De Vergulde Hand homemade boar Another big Omega knot experiment, I feel there is at least one more is in the works. After that I don't what more I can think of doing but I'm sure eventually I'll think of something. The Gong took a good edge and provided a fine shave. Have a good one.

Shave of the Day Burmashave Edition Prep: Shea Butter Black African Facial Soap, Hot towel, Almond & Shea Butter conditioner, Somerset's Pre-shave Oil Razor: Merkur 34C HD Blade: Supermax Super Platinum Tiger Brush: Burmashave Boar Lather: Burmashave soap Shave (setting): 3 pass, WTG, XTG, ATG + Cleanup Post: Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve Started out with the injector but the included blade wasn't quite sharp enough to shave with and don't have new ones yet, so I changed to the Merkur. The Burmashave soap is 15 years old or so, I soaked it in water last night for this shave. It actually lathers really nicely and gives great slip and cushion. I wasn't expecting much so I'm happy about that. The Special Reserve is a great manly scent, very musky and just almost intoxicating. To me anyway. And it also is moisturizing. Good day men PS - Oh yeah, the shave was BBS!

28 Nov 2014 Pre - Corn Huskers soap - Zi Peppino brush - Plisson Synthetic razor - Merkur 34C Blade - Astra SP (1) AS - pinaud Clubman Great shave and my last DE shave for a week, on a road trip. Driving from Michigan to Florida, taking father in law. Contemplated bringing a modified kit, but decided against it due to flying back with only a carry on bag. However my new goal upon my return is to acquire a proper travel kit for the future.

Believe me I wish it was due to eating way too much Turkey but Wed & Thurs my sinus issue roared big-time with sinus headaches, post nasal dripping and excessive coughing from the drip that I barely got five hours over the last two days. I slaved all morning in the kitchen with the Turkey, making the dressing, green been casserole and mash potatoes and could not smell or taste any of it, that is until today when the meds finally kicked in and I can smell the leftovers warming up in the microwave this very moment. I see a switch in your avatar, did you happen to nick yourself pretty good with a lot more territory to cover? Do tell why a change? Heath Ledger did a fantastic job as the joker and The Dark Knight is my favorite of the batman movies.
How does corn huskers work as a pre? Do you let it sit and them wash off or apply lather other like an oil
I apply it, then lather on top while it's moist. For me it seems to help with the first pass. With it, no tugging at all, without slight tugging at spots.
