Sorry to hear that your Holiday was wasted Guy; all that great food and you couldn't smell or taste it, bummer! Now that the meds have kicked in you can at least enjoy the leftovers. Yes, I did knick myself pretty good trying to chop off the bush. I am fine now and getting used to the new real estate. I wanted to change the Avatar because I don't have the beard anymore and I didn't want to go back to the Everett Hitch Avatar I used before the real person pic so, I thought of the Joker. I thought Heath Ledger was fantastic as the Joker and the Dark Knight movie is one of my favorite movies as well. I thought about "the Pencil Trick" which was awesome in the movie and that got me looking for a new Avatar pic. I needed a change to go along with the major change in my appearance so, since I didn't find anything else that I liked I went with the Joker. Kinda ryhmes with Stroker.
Fatboy on 9 = WOW!!! 1 pass WTG plus touch up and near BBS with 0 irritation (3 nicks though). Hot Shower with Benzoyl Peroxide wash. Noxzema Pre Cold River Soap Works Fougere Nouvelle Fatboy on 9 with Astra SP (2) Clindamycin Rx as aftershave
It's been a long day, but I still made time for a shave. Third handle on the Mongoose, and I liked this pairing. It was obvious that I was dead tired, because I actually nicked myself on my upper lip. Note to self..no more 2am shaves... Have a good one gents...
Saturday Morning Shave Razor: Yuma Blade: Perma-sharp (2) Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger Cream: Jobbs Men Revolution Cool AS Balm: Yves Rocher Sensitive Velvet softness on my face, an absolute BBS result. I picked this yuma in a pile of DE razors to choose the best one and the shave of it is really good. Have a great weekend!
Saturday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Lord Super/Dorco day 5 Iced Subzero SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Floid Classic AS This Lord Super is a great DE - it's somewhat more aggressive than my Super Speed but with care you can still get a great shave very safely. Two passes cleaned me up beautifully and resulted in an awesome BBS shave. JoAnna's ISZ soap will always have a special place in my heart (and in my rotation!) - its lather is a pleasure to work with, its menthol effect is so strong and invigorating, and its skincare is terrific. The Gold Bond moisturizer and Floid Classic aftershave both felt so chilly and nice afterwards.
Friday night: Four SE Shave-Off. I kinda knew how this would go before I started. As always, YMMV. ∙Gem OCMM ∙Gem Guiding Eye ∙Gem G-Bar ∙Gem black/silver Pushbutton I coated my mug with a generous layer of old Barbasol shave cream and swapped a new Gem coated stainless blade between the four. The OCMM is a monster. Too much bite for me now. I unloaded it after two gentle, careful swipes. The Pushbutton is barely capable; gave it a few more swipes than the OCMM but had to unload it too. The Guiding Eye and G-Bar shave pretty much the same but the Eye feels like it has a bit more aggressiveness. So I finished comfortably and efficiently with the G-Bar. Ended up BBS with no damage or irritation at all. The Barbasol cream is lanolin-heavy so my face is much softer and smoother this morning than usual. Slapped on some Superior 70.
Seeing into the future now? At one point I convinced myself that I loved the OCMM, but it really was too much for me. For me it wasn't necessarily the razor, but it helped me realize that the thicker and less flexible SE blades weren't as comfy as a DE blade.
Correction: Friday night. You're right, they just aren't; nor are injector blades, generally. For sheer comfort, nothing compares (imo) with a good stainless DE blade, or even some better carbon DE blades. But I will always enjoy using the G-Bar every now and then. Keeps the technique sharp.

Saturday 11/29/14 Prep: glycerin soap Pre-Shave Oil: Shave Secret Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery Razor: Gillette New Long Comb Blade: Voskhod Lather: Provence Sante Post: Alum sprayed on Witch Hazel: Generic Rose Scented A/S: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man Balm: Avon Musk Marine After Shave Conditioner Every time I use Provence Sante it reminds me exactly why it is my favorite. While the lather doesn't feel very slick on your face, it provides more than enough slickness when I am using a DE, an SE, or a straight. Cushioning is excellent. It lathers well. But, the best part is the way it leaves my face feeling like I have put on baby powder.
