Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
    Omega Pro 49 boar brush
    Schick Krona
    Feather Hi-Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

Van Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush. I quit bowl lathering because the spots on my cheek are healing nicely. Two passes with my Schick Krona and Feather Hi-Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    * Shower

    • Soap: Dove For Men Fresh Awake Body Wash
    • Shampoo: Head & Shoulders Clinical Strength
    • Conditioner: Suave Professionals Volumizing

    * Shave

    • Prep: Hot shower, Dove For Men Fresh Awake Body Wash, Every Man Jack Signature Mint Face Scrub, Suave Professionals Volumizing Conditioner
    • Brush: Omega Pro 48
    • Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    • Razor: Magic Shavette
    • Blade: Micro Touch One/Dorco (3)
    • Passes: WTG/ATG
    • Post: Warm water rinse, Cold water rinse, Alum block, Thayer's Cucumber Witch Hazel, Africa's Best Herbal Oil, Family Dollar Old Spice knock-off Aftershave

Getting better with an unguarded blade. Each time I shave with it I get less and less cuts. Only 2 today and one could've been avoided had I been careful around the Adam's apple. I get a very close shave with this shavette with almost zero irritation. Even less irritation than with a DE. My MWF performs a lot better with my Omega 48. Finished with a splash of true Old Spice.

Sorry folks, forgot to snap pics today.

    FRIDAY 12-5-14

    Prep: Hot shower, nothing special
Razor: 1958 Executive (24kt replate by RazorPlate - this baby shines!)
    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: Brand new Semogue 1520
    Soap: Proraso Green
    Bowl: ...who knows...
After Shave: Old Spice Classic (or Classique, if you wish)

    12-5-14.JPG

After participating in the NO-change NO-vember "project" using a late 40's Aristocrat, my old friend, my'58 Executive, initially felt like a total stranger. It's heavier than the Aristocrat and a bit longer. But, after an unpleasant and unmemorable shave on the first of the month, I soon remembered how much I like this razor. Surprisingly, on top of making new friends, I learned quite a bit during NO-vember, mostly improving my technique (still a noob, I'm afraid). One thing I learned was the ability to stretch a blade longer than 3 days, something I've never been able to do. Today was day 5 with this Astra and the shave was just fine. As usual a 3-pass "almost BBS" shave that had me "faceturbating" all day!

Tomorrow, I start with a new (to me) razor (Merkur 41c "1904" OC) and a new (to me) blade (Gillette 7 O'clock SharpEdge). We'll see what happens!

Thanks, I love it. It's a Cap'n Murphy (B&B) rework. It was badly bent when I got it. Here's another pic:

Welcome back from your trip. Really nice setup you got there. How does that aventus compare to fine platinum or the freedberg? I had a ginger's garden aftershave once, but the consistancy was a little thick IMO. Do you like it?

SOTD 5 December 2014 - Yuma Play Day - The Shave Den December

Hey guys...playing around tonight with a Yuma Frankenrazor. Yuma head/Voskhod on a Utopia Handle. The Yuma Razor Pass Around pulls out of Colorado tomorrow!

Soap is TSD Iced Subzero Stick, AS is also TSD Iced Subzero. Both exclusive to The Shave Den. Great Products that probably belong in every den...the Iced Subzero products are quite menthol/cold and I like the way may face felt after this shave. I will be using Barber Shoope scent from TSD and the Fall Vetiver soon....

    Have a great weekend!

    Evening Shave for Tomorrow
Pretty much as the same shave as yesterday's menthol-laced event—but with a different razor this time. The UC 'Spike' is a much more forgiving razor than the Rodgers, yet still provides great control with a very light feel . I'm rapidly becoming a Spike fan. :happy088:

The first shave was very good, for a different feel from the Shick Krona. Tonight's shave was more than CCS, more like DFS, with some areas up to BBS. Yup. It was a great shave! The only problem is that I kept on touching my face for the first few hours of my shift tonight!:happy088:
