Nice find. Last week it was $2.65, then bumped up to $2.85 over night and has just now trickled back down to $2.70. Maybe I'll see $2.59 soon...I hope so I'm sitting on a quarter tank.
Is that true? In the Netherlands, 1 liter is now about € 1,45 * 3,79 liters per gallon * 1,35 USD per Euro = $ 7,42 per gallon. It's getting to the point where after shave is cheaper to drive!!!???!!! Bye, Eric
When I was in college in the sixties I made sure that my tank was near empty when I was going home for semester break or other holidays since there was a town along the way — Chrisman, IL just west of the Indiana line — that was always having a gas war. The least I can remember paying for it there was 7.9¢ a gallon. Prior to that, I remember stumbling across a gas war in Glen Burnie MD where I got Sunoco for 9.9¢ in 1963. Cheapest I can remember in the past 15 years was 99.9¢ at a Racetrack in Denham Springs, LA. It's 2.65 average here today according to the news-talk radio station this AM.
Oooo Me me, I do. AND you got a set of steak knives and Top Value stamps AND an attendant filled it up and checked the oil and water. Talk about a walk down memory lane!
When I started driving, I remember the "gas wars" as my dad called them, and I was paying $0.17 cents a gallon the first time I filled up.
Yep, Even pumped it at that price and washed the windshield, checked the oil and water. Plus said Thank You to the customer. Darn I'm old.
2.65 today. It isn't whining if you're used to paying less than 1.25 for the vast majority of your life and then start paying over $2 per gallon. I'll admit to whining a little bit when it got up around $4 per gallon, but that's got to be expected.
