I found this EJ89 yesterday at a P&R Discounts. They sell almost out-of-date food, and overstocked items. This was the only one they had. $14.99. I was just wasting time in there, waiting for Tuesday Morning to open. Do most consider this a mild razor?

The Merkur 34c HD does give me some burn if I use to much pressure or go over an area to many times. You can get away with doing that because this razor is so mild. This soap is good and lathers up well even with this big brush. I screwed in the Feather, and checked the alignment and was good to go for my first pass WTG. A little rinse to see how we are doing and relather for a XTG pass on my face and ATG on my neck. Some more lather for touch up on my neck and we are done. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some Neutrogena Balm then some 4711 for a change of pace. Nice smooth shave with just a little burn. Have a good one, time to shop.

Another day with the Merkur 1904 only this time with an Astra SP blade. Still really like the feel of this razor. A much better shave today, very comfortable. Not BBS close, probably not DFS, probably just a FS? It was passable. Funny part is that I'm struggling on my cheeks, but my normal trouble areas are perfect! Need more "razor research".

Ohhhh, Yeti is a pretty potent face-freezer in its own right. But Glacial Obsidian is definitely colder - at least to me.

 

I haven't tried TABAC for a long time =) maybe I should pick it up again.

 

I've had the razor re plated in 24ct Gold recently, the cap was scratched deeply and the end of the handle had some 'dings' from being dropped by the original owner. I sanded these out with wet & dry and polished them before taking it in to the platers.

 

Is there anywhere other than shavingyeti.com to get YS? My family wants to get me some for Christmas.

That razor is the satin finish Mongoose razor. I like the back to the future reference...that's funny. It's a mighty fine razor with a hefty pricetag. The head only option is $119.
