    Schick I1 razor
    Personna 74 blade (day 6)
    Williams SS
    Burma Shave Boar brush
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel/Sage mix
    Aqua Velva Ice Sport A/S

The Burma Shave boar brush can really whip up some Williams lather! Another nice smooth shave from the Personna 74 blade. Day 6 is when I usually feel a drop off in blade performance but not with this blade so far. Again, the question, how long will it last?

Ambossmann 150, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point

This is one of my favorite straight razors, it is reliable and capable of always giving an impeccable shave. It is the only Ambossmann razor in my collection and it was one of my favorite ones since the day I bought it. A singing razor, very precise and sharp, capable of a very deep shave, comfortable and absolutely smooth.

Forgot yesterday's. In fact, it's been a while since I posted an SOTD, so I figure it is time. Plus, this includes a mini-review of the Wilkinson Sword soap stick and the TSD aftershave milk and cologne.

    SOTD December 9, 2014

Prep: Hot shower. Neutrogena face wash.

    Brush: Parker Pure Badger.

    Lather: Wilkinson Sword stick.

Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable Slim (birth quarter razor, M2).

    Blade: Voskhod.

Post: Cold water; Razorock Alum Block.

After: TSD double-iced Blue Spruce Aftershave Milk and a spritz of TSD Christmas cologne.

First time trying the Wilkinson Sword shaving stick, and I have to say, all the positive reviews I read about this were absolutely correct! This is a great stick soap that provides a lot of cushion and slip. The amount of the lather wasn't copious, but the slip and cushion more than made up for it, and it went on thick. It is a lightly-scented soap stick with a fresh scent... Can't quite place what it reminds me of but some reviews I read after using it said it is similar to Speick, but lighter. I haven't tried Speick so can't say. It is tallow-based and an interesting blue color, but the lather is very white. I would actually rate it up towards the top echelon of the soaps I have tried. Really, really like it and will probably use it again later this week.

I got the soap stick via eBay by way of Connaught Shaving, and I am glad that I did. They only charged me the US equivalent of 40 cents to ship me two of these sticks from the UK, which was a pleasant surprise, and I don't think I've ever received a package from the UK so fast. It arrived here in less than a week.

This was also my first time using the TSD aftershave milk that just arrived (thank you, @Queen of Blades). So I should offer a review:

The scent of the TSD milk is great -- the same Christmas-y blue spruce scent I got in their aftershave splash. It's not cloyingly sweet, nor is it a resinous pine scent. I can't say it's 100% like a spruce tree, but pretty close and not particularly artificial-smelling like some pine and fir scents. As for the liquid itself, I was surprised that it isn't more viscous. It is relatively thin and watery, but milky white in color. It came in a plastic press-to-open bottle, and comes out pretty quickly, so I'm going to need to be careful not to pour out too much at one time. I have a feeling I will go through this more quickly than some aftershaves -- in part because of the thinness, but also because the scent doesn't seem as strong as the aftershave splash, and it doesn't last very long after dry-down. The 2X menthol hit about 5 minutes after application, and lasted for 10-15 minutes, feeling very cool on my scalp. I didn't notice that the menthol added much scent to the milk, which is a good thing -- I wouldn't want to spoil the spruce scent. After applying, my skin felt smooth and supple.

I also used a spritz of the TSD "Christmas" cologne, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I'll be using this on Christmas morning for sure, and whenever I need a little bit of Christmas cheer. It smells of cinnamon or nutmeg, as well as pine and bayberry. I went to bed and my wife said "You smell like Christmas."

    "Precisely." I replied. ;)

I've been using Arko soap all week and cannot remember ever getting this many perfect shaves in a row. I'm almost out of Arko, so it looks like I'll have to order some more.

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Red Tip , Wade & Butcher Bow straight razor
    Blade: Astra SP (5)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Musk after shave
Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense

A comfortable Darn Fine Shave this morning. The #6 whipped the MWF pretty well this morning. The lather was a little airy. The Red Tip and the Bow performed well. The Prada will have me smelling great all day long.

    Have a blessed day!

Today I finished the home made pre-shave oil I made yesterday and it worked great. In fact, I think it worked a lot better than Shave Secret. Last night at about 10:00 I noticed my face had significantly less stubble than I usually have at that time of night.

    Odin's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Grapefruit Mint
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
Cologne: Lippazan by Parfums de Marley (last of a sample)

Despite today being theoretically my Oakmoss' turn in the rotation, I reached for the Grapefruit Mint, as I felt like I'd been neglecting to use it. As always it lathered like a champ with my Simpsons brush. The Bic doesn't have the best of all reputations around here, but it continues to be my best performing blade, still sharp and comfortable on the third day of use, with extra days' worth of stubble on more than one shave. Two passes got me DFS results; further passes were put off because I've been procrastinating work that needs to be done TODAY. I picked up the Lippizan sample some time ago from a niche shop in Seattle; I liked it, but I'm not sure I'd want a full bottle's worth, even if the price were less than it is.
