    December 11's ZCOLDWATER.jpg

    Nivea Men's Face Wash
    Tabac Shaving Soap
    Vie-Long Horse Hair brush
    '62 Gillette Slim
    Feather Hi-Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Vie-Long Horse Hair Brush. Two passes with my '62 Gillette Slim and Feather Hi-Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  7. Custom blend by yours truly. I have TSD Iced Mojito X2 shave soap and AS balm but wanted something close to freezing my face off and what better way than to use to use Glacial Spearmint as the base? I then added the other ingredients and MORE menthol to get the effect I wanted but with an aroma of a Cuban Mojito cocktail.

  8. Hands down Glacial kicks Yeti's butt in pre and post shave condition. Haven't looked at the ingredient list since I ordered earlier this year, but believe Glacial has tallow, lanolin and some clay which as far as I know Yeti does not. Of the Glacial's I still have, I find the custom blend I made up myself and used today to be the easiest of the Glacial to whip up a lather but current batches are a heck of a lot easier to whip up than previous batches.

  12. Shave of the Day

"Don't Judge a YUMA by Its Cover" Edition

Prep: hot bath, shea butter black african facial soap, homemade sandalwood patchouli preshave oil
    Razor: YUMA
    Blade: Feather (3)
Brush: New Forest 2204 High Mountain Badger
    Lather: mystery croap
Shave: 3 passes; WTG, XTG, ATG + Cleanup
    Post: cold water, Clubman

The Yuma came to me today as part of the Yuma Passaround Box...

I was immediately concerned after inspecting the razor. It's fit and finish are deplorable, and it looks like something a civil war field surgeon would prep a leg amputation with. Very rough. I had a hard time getting the cap aligned with the blade properly.

Ahhhh, but once I finally got it setup, what a shave it gave! This ugly little guy shaved his heart out for me. I barely felt any blade at all, with a FEATHER! Just smooth balanced strokes... It felt like a number 3 or 4 setting on my adjustable razor, for reference.

I was able to get an almost perfect shave from this little guy. The throat area especially is one of the best shaves I've ever had.

So yes, it is ugly as sin, tricky to setup, and not for beginners; but if you know what you're doing, and have proper technique, a BBS shave is indeed achievable.

    G'night gents

Pint Glass from U of A bookstore.
Utopia 3pc with Crystal (Personna Israel)
Omega 48 Pro - Boar Bristle
TSD Lanolin Shave Stick "Barber Shoppe"
    TSD AS Splash "Barber Shoppe"

Great 2pass DFS from the slick soap and sharp blade. I achieved the best face lather in my life today from the TSD Lanolin Soap. TSD AS made me feel like I was fresh from the barber chair...
