    Two Firsts
I recently traded for B&M Petrichor and used today for the first time. It's the vegan formula, so I thought I would miss the lanolin. Surprisingly I didn't miss it as the soap performance was on par with the familiar near optimal B&M tallow. The scent is hard for me to rate now because my nose is stuffy, but it seemed pleasantly sweet and subtle.
The other first today was Voskhod blades from the same trade. I've heard good things, and I wasn't disappointed. The blade paired well with Der Vorschlaghammer, delivering a smooth and close shave. I finished with London Barbershop AS and Tabac EdC for a great shave.
    Prep: Proraso Green pre barba
    Soap: B&M Petrichor
    Brush: HIS
    Rasur: Der Vorschlaghammer
    Britva: Voskhod (1)
    AS: Maggard's London Barbershop
    EdC: Tabac!

    today's shave
    hot water wash with noxema
    Oscar11 omega boar
    bombed Stirling sandalwood
    Merkur 39c
    persona lab(3)
    iced Skin Bracer
today's shave went well. I used noxema to prep. felt nice on my face, but didn't perform like normal nivea. bombed Stirling added to the coolness. the hammer had three passes, but had to touch up heavy on my trouble spots. I'm smooth but not as comfy as normal. finished with iced Bracer.
hope y'all did as well, or better.

Only a Cracky Wacky Ticky Tacky Menthol Monkey like me could use a set-up like this on a cold, snowy winter morning and let me tell you something - this shave was not only frigid, it was awesome. The Frost_byte soap lathered so easily and FAST. Its menthol sensation hit me like ten tons of icy bricks as soon as I started brushing the soap on to my face and the second lathering felt so much colder. The skincare of this soap is pretty good as well and the scent, which I found awkward at the beginning has grown on me since then. My Lord Super did the job beautifully and left me with a superb BBS feeling. As always, the Gold Bond moisturizer and the Rubby Dubby Doo proved their menthol power and great post-shave care is hard to beat. ;) :D

    THURzDAY
Early morning shave with a little Sheffield steel! A bit trickier trimming around the 'stache and lower lip with this blade shape, but I'm happy to report no blood-letting nor mis-shaping of facial hair…;) A pleasant 3-pass shave & 'eye-opening' Snakebite aftershave splash…
    Have a blessed Thursday, all!

For some reason I like this pure hair (Edwin Jagger). I plan on doing a larger version of this brush with a Shavemac pure knot. Have a good one. Nice shave, btw.

    12/11/14 - Thursday

I've not used my homemade PSO for quite a long time, likely 7 months or so. For some reason I decided to rub a little on this morning. Man! What a smooth and close shave! Maybe I need to get back to using it. My shave was so good I ran (well walked, but you know...) and made my wife feel my face and taught her to say Da** Fine Shave. BBS!

Prep: warm wash and homemade PSO
    Lather: Klar's Kabinett (Georgetown Scuttle)
    Brush: Omega 10066
    Razor: Weber PH Bulldog
    Blade: Ladas
Post: warm rinse, cool rinse and Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Today might call for some faceturbation after this wonderful 3 pass shave.

Thanks Bob. It was a computer hardware and networking class with 4 of us in it so the final was actually quite relaxed. The graduate education program at Colorado State University is not that large - maybe 50 students total, so the classes are small and the professors are our neighbors. Our "practical" final was last week when we received a non-working computer and had 3 hours to determine the problem and remedy it. I passed that one, so a couple of short presentations were a piece of cake last night.
