Wow. I was dying when I saw a soap named commander confidence. Then I saw it was Soap Commander, Confidence scent. Thanks for the laugh
I'm in. I never did this when I started. On most of my razors, I don't have trouble, but my Slim doesn't give consistent shaves. I have gotten a BBS and a "shaved with a cheese grader" feeling from the same blade and setting on different days. Do the rules include the settings on an adjustable razor? Will use Slim with Gillette platinum blades, Semogue 1460 brush. Maggard Orange Menthol soap and aftershave.
Dialing in a Slim Adjustable is the focus of my 30 days. The guidelines in my head are: 1 brush 1 blade type 1 razor 30 days of focus Other than that, I think you should just set a goal and go for it. I will be opening the discussion thread soon for pics, prototypes and fellowship!
Adjustable settings are allowed under the 30 day rule. You are using one razor as it is intended to be used so start low and work up.
I love that razor....it is one of the most underrated smooth shave providers that I've ever used. It's really lightweight, but very maneuverable, and leaves a great result. Nice choice.
Gentlemen...the discussion group thread for January is open. Let's kick it off. @Misphit can get his extra credit here! http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...ay-rule-pic-discussion-all-are-welcome.42165/
Got my first DE razor for DChristmas. My GF came through for me and gifted me a Parker 99R, and razor and brush stand. Beautiful!! I have a green proraso puck, and parker boar brush ordered. So I'm just about ready to see how this goes for 30 days
HAving second thoughts about the razor to use, Considering the Phoenix or a Gem Damaskene. Will know by the first
So I will be going with Axe chilled cooling face wash, Parker 99R, Shark Super Chrome blades, Proraso green, Parker Boar brush, and tba aftershave for the month. I cant wait to see how this baby shaves. Hoping its the answer!!
Shop is open...come on over... http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...ay-rule-pic-discussion-all-are-welcome.42165/
I am quite torn by this 30 day challenge. First, I have commitment issues. I read how some folks suffered through "No Change November" and am not sure I can take the strain. Just picking one setup is daunting. At the moment, I have a slight front-runner. I mean if I am going way back to 30 day rule, then why not go to the beginning. My first DE was a Parker 71R... and I've never gotten a great shave off of the thing! In fact, had I not bought a Weishi, I may not have continued wet shaving. I broke out the 71R this morning and used a Bic Chrome Platinum. This blade is still new to me, so I don't now how much of the slight burn to attribute to the blade, the razor, or the combination. However, the Astra SP is a good base line and solid performer for me, so I could just stick with it. It was also my first blade purchase after the sampler pack. SO... if I go this route, then I may as well add Williams. It was one of my first soaps. Also, I haven't seen anyone sharing any Williams love lately, so it might be overdue! <sigh> I feel like a kid working up the nerve to jump off of the high dive. I'm not sure I want to take this leap!
Yet the dreaded Parker remains in your den, and it taunts you, and holds sway over you. You have yet to master this weapon, but you can. You can fix this in just 30 days. Your training with the Weishi has advanced your skill level. Surely, it far exceeds that of way back then. Come back with us young Sean and finish your training. Master the dreaded Parker which taunts you and threatens to push you once more into the world of multi-blade carts with their inherent irritation, ingrown hairs, and razor burn. (and that nasty canned goo...) Conquer it! Become the Parker Master! 2 We will help you......
Inspiring oh wise one. I almost ordered a Parker so I, too, can be the Parker Master. Alas, such a Master is already in training. May the Force be strong in that one.
