Goodbye 2014...and Hello 2015!! I just finished up the final shave of this year... I used my big bad badger brush to make quick work of the Gondolier soap sample that I received from @Tdmsu, many thanks kind sir! The scent is great, but I believe this is the older formula from HTGAM, and I would say it needed a little more protection. The lather was still nice, but I think their newer formula is better. I used the R41 paired with a Rapira blade, and after 3 passes, was left with a might fine smooth result. I finished up with some unrefined shea butter, and will be ready for tonight's countdown. I want to say thanks to all you guys and gals for making this place something special. I joined back in March, and have learned so much. I look forward to next year, and will do my best to give back and enable as many new soap purchases as I can..lol Stay safe tonight gents...

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Shark day 3 Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS Stirling Glacial Wintergreen WH To begin the new year I'm going to make sure I FREEZE my face off the Stirling Glacial Way which is a menthol lover's dream-come-true. The Obsidian soap, with its awesome lather and strong black licorice scent is so pleasurable for me, not to mention the bitingly-cold menthol effect which it gives. With the Wintergreen witch hazel - splash it on after using a non-mentholated soap or cream and you'll freeze, splash it on after using a normally-mentholated soap or cream and you'll freeze even more, and splash it on after using the Obsidian or any other Glacial soap and you'll feel like you need a fur coat and a space heater! WEDNESDAY Final Day of 2014 I decided to shave earlier tonight so as not to be impaired & wielding a straight razor (not that I plan on over-indulging, but after last night's blood-letting, I opted to start earlier ). 2014 was a decent year—some ups, some downs, but as always, being part of this forum has always been consistently enjoyable! January 1's Nivea Men's Face Wash Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap Wild Cherry Silver Tip Schick Eversharp I2 Personna Injector CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Lemon WH Aqua Velva The Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Wild Cherry Silver Tip Badger Brush. I was very pleased with the brush's perfromance. Two passes with my Schick I2 and Personna Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. This was the first time using the Personna injector blade. It is very sharp. I got one little weeper without knowing it. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
1st shave of the year!! Was the same as yesterday's Nice way to wake up though tired from all the neighbours doing fireworks to 3 am then getting up at 5.00 cos the wife has to go to work. But having fun with the girls. Feeling happy. A great start to the year. Hope you all have a great year too.
