Not my original idea...saw it on another forum. I have a Semogue 1470 and a Semogue 1800 to PIF. The rules are simple......you have to be on active duty in one of our Services. I think it is a good way to start the year by gifting these brushes to someone honorably serving our country. There will be two winners. You will either get the 1470 or the 1800. Both are great little boars; beautiful wood handles; nice knots. Open until Jan 2, 2015. CONUS please (however, will mail to APO/FPO). I think this covers the details.
Folks, JR just brought up a good point that I had thought of while posting, but did not include. If you have a loved one or friend who is in the military and is a DE/wet shaver, but may not have access to TSD, then please join the PIF. We all trust you will pass along the brush to the person. The point of this PIF is to do something for an active military person. I will send the brush to you - you can gift. Make sense?
Thanks Ed...I know just the recently converted student of mine who could use this. Thanks for the update.
I would like to be included in the PIF. Just got my son started in DE wet shaving. He is army reserve. Just finished his 3 years active in Army stationed in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Sure is nice to have him back home in the area. Now serving in the reserves Grenville TN. I just mentioned this site to him over Christmas when I have him a Schick Krona that was passed down to me from my Father. Setting him up with blade sampler I built from Try-a-blade and some locally made shave soap I found and local market. Thanks for the PIF for our service members. I can not tell you what it meant to me that he joined the army and chose to serve. One proud Papa here.
This would be a winner, no matter what...a wonderful heart felt post from a proud Father. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
Folks, Here it is 2nd Jan and I received two responses...not from active duty but from friends and family for active duty folks. The "winners" are R. D. Nelson and JR Reyes. I believe that it is wonderful that JR and RD thought, not of themselves, but of others. A great way to start a New Year. I served 20 years in the USAF and am proud to send these brushes to folks defending out country. JR/RD. Please send me your mailing addresses. I will mail to you and you can gift. I'll flip a coin to see which brush goes where. Both are very nice hand-made Semogue brushes from a highly regarded vendor in Portugal. Nice knots and beautiful wooden handles.
