How y'all doin, I found this at Walgreens, and wanted to try it and put it in a shave mug. So I remilled it . First grated it up than add a little water cook on med. lo fire until it melted and most of the water is evaporated. I went to Goodwill store and found these, A sugar bowl with lid and a repurposed soup mug. I'll have to give a review on this shave soap when I use it. It has a wonderful smell, ok that's why I bought it... and it $4.99 BOGOF could not pass it up.
It's easy takes about 1hr. Nothing to add because it is a shave soap. I've seen one recipe that used a bar of Dove and a bar of Ivory but you have to add a few things to the soap to make it work for shaving.
Finished pics. Thrift store finds sugar bowl and soup bowl coast a whole $2.5o I've shaved with the soap twice and it lathers up really nice. So far I like the results. Sounds like the same soap I found at Walgreens.
I tried to use a brush with this soap about 2 years ago and it was sudsy as heck. But I'll give it this - as a bath soap it's the best damned smelling bath soap I've ever used and now I want to buy another bar of it.
I have seen this soap at Meijer's but I haven't tried it yet there is a utube video where someone shaves with it. it did look watery n sudsy like regular bar soap
I didn't think it was. that's y I was shocked that someone made that video lol. although I have heard of people using different things as shaving cream like ( olive oil, aloe vera gel, coconut oil, noxema) even thou it says cleanse. moisturize and shave on the box, I haven't tried it so I cant say one way or the other. a wise man once said "don't knock it until you try it"
I tried a similar multi purpose soap for a shave once. My face was sore for days. If I had to grab something cheap and local on short notice, I would be happier with a puck of Williams or the Nivia shave cream. YMMV. but for others I would be careful trying that. Maybe hit a small area of your face first. Glad it's working for you and I like the thrift store finds. Very cool!
