Thanks Guy, I had to use the Fougere SS (It's now more of a soap than a cream ) this morning. Since I broke out the Aristocrat, I needed a classy lather to match.
First time using my Gillette Blue Tip. It gave a superbly smooth and efficient shave. Couldn't be happier with it. Stuff used; Razor: Gillette Blue Tip, 1956 Blade: GSB Soap: Proraso white Brush: L'Occitane Plisson Bowl: $1 plastic bowl A/S: Zirh Erase Alum: Gentleman Jon

Hahahahaha! I much prefer colour, my friend, and my editing program doesn't have a very good B&W option! Therefore, you won't be seeing one from me until I can resolve this issue to where I am satisfied with the results! Furthermore, the world is so much lovelier in colour!
SoTD for Wed, Jan 7, 2015, or, I really need to try harder. Pre- Clove and Balsam pso Soap- Bearded Jack lavender eucalyptus Brush- Ever Ready w/ New synthetic knot Razor- Gem Clog Pruf Blade- CVS Rinse- Osage Aftershave- Alcolado Glacial Lotion- Kiehl's Cologne- TSD Tabac type Geez. I did not manage to get a single SoTD post up last week. At my job, the week leading to Christmas is usually very busy. And the two weeks after are generally insane. This year did not disappoint. I was barely able to scrape together a couple minutes for sanity reasons, let alone for luxuries like internet forums. This week is back down to a manageable pace. So back to interweb rambling! Today was the first day I have shaved since Saturday. So I had a pretty good growth to knock down. So it was a job for the trusty Clog Pruf. I had been trying to refrain from using any SEs until my blades come from Ted Pella, but that keeps on not happening. Not blown away by their shipping dept. For $15, I'd like my stuff in a week, tops. It has been two. But today, this was a choice that had to be made. Man, I love this razor, especially for 'mowing' shaves like this. The growth came off easy, two passes to BBS. I am really becoming a firm fan of single edge shaving. I also finally got my knots delivered, so I have been getting some vintage handles back up and running. This knot is synthetic, 20mm, and frankly magical. It makes me very happy to put this Ever Ready in daily rotation. It is early, with the Trade Mark Face and a bone handle. And the bone has aged beautifully. This is why I love vintage handles so much. You cannot buy a brush like this. But between this one, and my reknotted Certifyd, my brush restoration pace has come to a crashing halt. I have about 20 handles waiting. I just got 11 knots. 6 boar, 2 badger, 3 synthetic. I have finished exactly 2 brushes. But I love them both so much, it is hard to get up enthusiasm to do another! I just want to keep using these ones! Today was the first time I used the Glacial aftershave I got as a gift over the holiday. I used Osage to get the soap film off, then the Glacial. Mentholriffic! I used to think of Osage as strongly mentholated. But using it as an astringent/rinse to get soap off, I have totally stopped noticing it. I did not even realize I had doubled my menthol dose until my face was frozen. I liked it. So that was today. Time to shake off the holiday and get back in the groove. I will be back tomorrow... I swear!

SOTD January 7, 2015 This is the sixth day of my 30-day adventure to improve my shaving skills using the Mongoose. No significant news to report on my two-pass plus touch-up shave. The Mongoose provides a suprisingly mild and consistent shave, and the Feather blade on day three performs at its best for me. Happy Shaving!
Here's how I'll be freezing my face off for Thursday morning! Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/7 AM day 3 Stirling Glacial Lavender SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Osage Rub AS Caron Pour Un Homme EdT Well, just before I test-lathered one of the new Glacial Lavender pucks which I received today and all I can say is wowwwwwwwwwww, is it terrific. The scent is a perfect and brilliant balance of intense menthol and rich, refined lavender. Like the majority of these Glacial soaps this one is thirsty and a slight effort is needed to get the lather where you want it, but it can be done. The menthol effect is mega-powerful and you feel it hitting almost immediately when you begin to lather up. With Rod's soaps you're guaranteed to get great skincare as well. The Gold Bond moisturizer in conjunction with the Rubby Dubby Doo will make this frigid shave that I'll be having tomorrow even more pleasurable.
SOTD 1/7/15 Razor: Gillette Old Type Blade: Astra SP Brush: Semogue 1520 Soap: Proraso Green AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush Third shave with my Great Uncle's Old Type (bad pic, I know). I think I've got this down now. I went easy - absolutely no pressure - and let the razor do the work. The result was a very nice, close shave. DFS? BBS? I don't know, but there was nothing left but my smooth happy skin when I got done. The cold Barbasol AS went on and there was only a slight bit of sting - or maybe it was just the menthol cold - I couldn't tell. All I know is my face felt good and that's what counts! On to #4...
